New green natural leather top, and some veneer cracks on the corners.

Outstanding American late Classical mirror framed in solid well-figured mahogany with a gilt applied composition border of bellflowers. The gilding has a particularly rich patina. The glass is old and 1/4" thick, but probably not original, and has dulled to a very nice patina. The plate is backed with a wood panel that is covered with paper. The nails holding the plate in place have been replaced.

Origin: America, probably mid-Atlantic region, ca. 1840...

From our European Collection, a very fine 19th century carved oak choir bench from Oxford. This piece is very well worked, with two finely executed ecclesiastical-themed carved panels backing each of the two seating compartments. The phrase "Fight The Good Fight" is carved on the uppermost cross panel.

The interior of the box holds an ink stone, a copper water dropper and areas for resting brushes all treated with clouds of fine gold nashiji on a black lacquer ground. The underside of the lid is decorated with a scene of a rocky riverbank covered in wild flowers...

Rare, circa 1860, English walnut tea caddy featuring nice clean lines with its only decoration being the word “TEA” inlaid in sterling silver. The lid is hinged and the interior features two separate rectangular compartments with removable wooden lids for storage. In very good antique condition with expected signs of use with some light scratches, a minor nick to the walnut finish, and a small piece of silver missing at the food of the “T”. The four compartments separated by three rail and stile partitions with handle, enclosed by openwork lyre sides and turned corner posts with finials, all over two drawer case raised on turned feet.
