An antique Huanghuali Chinese grain storage coffer in a square design. The hinged cover has a floating panel with time honored shrinkage surrounded by a frame. There are four protruding grooved square posts, one per corner that adds a decorative element. Hardware has brass mounts. Through mortise and tenon joinery construction and a beautiful patina acquired over its history. Front slatted moldings and 2 panel replacements using Jichimu wood. In the late Ming style.
