A lovely tan ancient Egyptian Scarab, more than 2,300 years old, from the famous Mitry collection (see our Homepage). It is 5/8” long (16 mm) and made of steatite, an easy-to-carve stone that hardens when heated. Scarabs empowered life and resurrection and were often placed under mummy wrappings to protect the body and to help it resurrect. This Scarab comes in a jewelry display cup.

An unusually large ceramic figure of a reclining animal, probably a Dog, in greish clay with painted details of necklace, eyes and claws in red.

Terracotta head of a man with a round hairstyle which covers the ears. The hair with impressed circles and remains of white color.
The man shows wide almond-shaped eyes with neatly marked cosmetic lines and eyebrows. The prominent nose with pieced nostrils, the lips pressed to a gentle smile.
Elaborate style with much use of the modeling tool. The piece constitutes a fragment of figurine or a sculptor's model.

An ancient Egyptian white steatite scarab, with finely engraved anatomical features such as clypeus, prothorax and elytra. The reverse is detailed with hieroglyphs, including the engraved depiction of a beetle scarab with the sun disk, a basket, a feather of Maat and a papyrus stem. The amulet is pierced longitudinally for suspension.

This is a finely incised talatat fragment dating to the Amarna Period (18th Dynasty, 1344-1344 B.C.) and depicts a hand and arm of Akhenaten and rays from the solar disc. A rare and quite attractive set of two knives and a sicle type of cutter (3), knapped in finely patinated Silex, Egyptian stoneage / Neolithic period, 5200 - 4000 BC.

These comes from an old French collection and the two knives with tags in white and black ink giving the finding place to 'Fayoum' and 'Le Fayoum' - a region just south of Cairo, close to the Nile.

Rarely seen and a must for collectors of Egypt antiquities.
