Attractive conical jar in fine hardburnt redish and darker pottery.

Size: 9 cm. wide and 6,8 cm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, very small chips to rim nicely restored, small chip to the base. Pencil number from older collection on the side.

Beautiful female head of a pillar figurine with sharply defined facial features. The elaborate hairdo is reminiscent of Egyptian wigs.
The woman shows beautiful almond-shaped eyes with neatly marked lids. The arched eyebrows span the entire forehead. The nose is gone, the lips are pressed to a gentle smile.
Elaborate style with much use of the modeling tool. Back side left raw.
Pillar figurines were prevalent in Judah during the First Temple period, ca. from 800 to 586 BC...

A wonderful quality pottery Jug from Siegburg, Germany dating to the 16th. cent. AD.

A type called Trichterhalskrug in German, that often was made with an oval or round medallion at teh front. In this case the medallion is unusually crisp and elaborate for the type and depicts a coat of arms for a city or a wealthy House.

Size: 16 cm.

Condition: Good very fine for the often heavily restored type and age...

A fine cylinder seal of a very large and thick size for type and carved depiction, Mesopotamia, somewhere around 3000 BC.

Nice symethric style in high relief within concenthric borders. The seal looks to be inspired by the style of the Jemdet Nasr, but to us the carving looks like there's an Archer is shooting a bow against an animal and another animal behind, highly stylized.
