Unpolished axe with nice proprotions and clear 'seams' along the edges. Very nice workmanship.

Thinbutted axes were developed to help neolithic people to clear the forest to prepare the land for farming. The largest specimens - up to 40 cm - were put down in marches as offers.

Size is 20 cm, so a larger specimen - c. 7,8 inches.

An attractive preserved and conserved intact iron axe from the medieval times, ca. 12th.-14th. cent. AD.

An axe with a square blade with a double bart, dated on old label from the 12th. century, we think it could be a bit later than that but not later than 14th. century.

Thus a rare early German axe, difficult to find in intact buriel condition from this period!

A large and fine archaic style serpentine stone stamp seal of the gable type, Ubaid period of Anatolia and Syria, c. 4th. millenium BC.

Recent research clearly indicates that highly advanced city cultures allready existed in the Ubaid period of Anatolia and Syria in the early 4th. millenium BC and perhaps even before that. This predates the Mesopotamian Uruk period, so it's a question who inspired who?.

This is an exquisite piece of history - an arrowhead that was used by the skilled Achaean archers in Ancient Greece. A nice lot of 4 small refined celts made from silex as imitations of bronze celts in the bronzeage period. The set dates to ca. 1400 BC or so and the type are rather scarce since they are made late up in the bronzeage!

Nicely patinated and polished pieces that is a must for collectors of Neolithic silex.

Two different silver & bronze 'temple' rings, Viking settlers of Scandinavia, Kingdom of the Rus or Kievan Rus, present day Ukraine, c. 800-1000 AD.

Beautiful and still wearable temple rings, one with three 'knotted' pendants or beads in cobber or bronze with some silver and another in solid silver with cuprite inlays along the edge of the the 4 projecting decorative knobs. These rings were worn from a headband around the temples by Viking Rus women, hence the name Temple rings.

Choice grey pottery terracotta oil lamp with profiled ring handle and a discus shaped body, Greek hellenistic, c. 3rd.-1st. century BC.

This lamp was made as an 'imitation' of the metal lamps of the period, but in pottery for the lower classes!

Interesting broad chisel, a combination of the axe and the chisel and quite scarce. A chisel knapped with nice symethri and sharp edges. The area of the edge is high polished to a glass like effect, the remaining chisel-axe is unpolished

A fine lot of two later bronze age military weapons, Ancinet Near East 2nd.-1st. millenium BC.

Lance of a type used by the armies of the great Empires in the Ancient Near East of the 1st. mill. BC., fine glossy patina, tiny piece of the tip lost, 28 cm. and 2) a sturdy attractive bronze dagger with central midrip and very broad triangular blade. Excellent metal and intact. 25 cm.

A scarce and interesting Cylinder-stamp, found around Antiochia, probably, dating around 2nd. mill. BC, though the collectors dated this seal much earlier (see picture of his ID-cards).

The seal carved with a symethric design on the cylinder and with two stamps with animals in either side.

A delightful female idol carved from bone. The face is dominated by huge, round eyes and a small nose and mouth. Incised lines form bands around the head, neck, and waist, female genitals outlined.
