Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this large kneeling boat figure with original pigment. This figure has nicely rendered facial features with original pigments of black, red and yellow remaining. The figure's hair has significant pigment remaining with a band around the head. One arm is missing and a partial portion of the right arm remains. The figure measures a large 4" in height and 2.75" in depth...

Interesting and massive stamp seal in fossilized shell or the like, and carved with a large capride with long horns on the base. Hemispheric shape and drill-carving of the later Uruk period, c. 3300-2800 BC.

Very attractive and impressive in the rough shell material, quite dense and heavy.

Interesting beads from Bactria, Balkh Area, made during the Greco-Bactrian Empire and with remnants of later dying in Cobalt and torquise during the Islamic Dynasties, 9th.-10th. century AD.

These types of beads are expertly carved in the very hard Quartz material, with rating of 7+ on the hardness scale for semi-precious stones with panels/faceted...

Pearly white glaze with Sgraffito decoration (relief), pottery bowl with flaring body rising from a short foot. The sides decorated with a beautiful Sgraffito pattern of ovals and center and rim decorated with splashes of brown.

An unsually large stone cylinder seal, carved in a glossy black green stone, Middle Assyrian period, c. 14th.-11th. cent. BC.

This cylinder is seal 48 mm. tall and c. 15 mm. thick - a seal that gives a huge imprint when rolled on clay. The seal showing an archer fighting a winged griffin. The archer is probably the Great King and he is kneeling shooting his bow into the face of the Griffin, which is lifting it's left paw.
