Head of an antique Lady carved in high relief. Given the thickness, it is likely to be a fragment of a sarcophagus. It is a Roman or a Greek.The quality is fine, the carving is precise, the finish is neat and the marble has a beautiful patina, but I think it is a 19th century creation in the style of the antique. The fragment is mounted on a green marble cube. Total height: 28cm, the fragment alone 20cm. Some chips on the base otherwise good condition.

Offered here is an outstanding Greek Apulian Kylix. The kylix has a splendid body form with beautiful intact handles that curl slighly upward at the tips. This is a bronze Scythian brooch from an ancient Eurasian Steppe culture dating back to the 6th-4th Century B.C. The brooch is shaped like a recumbent deer, with a slender body and pronounced musculature. The legs are folded beneath the body, and the head is large, with round eyes, facial features, and stylized antlers. The reverse side has its original clasp for attachment.

A finely preserved small inscribed foundation cylinder, Neo-Babylonian Empire, c. 8th-6th. century BC.

The barrel shaped piece fully inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform. Untranslated but such cylinders usually has been attributed to Nebucadnezzar II, 604-562 B.C. They were stuck into buidings walls and is often long texts with praises to the builder and the gods, usually a king, just like foundation bricks.

A large 4 sided jar in sea-green glass, having a wide ridged strap handle and folded lip. The base is decorated with a segmented circle in the center of which is another circle. Smaller circles are at each corner of the base. This is NOT a reproduction, but an original period piece.

The jar is in excellent condition, with no cracks, chips, or repairs. It is 9 1/2" tall, and 3 1/4" on each side of the square base.

A mold-formed faience ushabti standing in mummiform with fused legs, holding implements, and with 8 rows of sharp hieroglyphs wrapping around the legs.
