19th century Chinese small carved boxwood architectural panel depicting a Chinese scholar with 3 attendants among pavilions and trees. Must have been part of an altar piece. Wonderful quality carving with piercing and deep undercutting, rich detailing (see several Fungus of Immortality), very pleasant wear and patina. Size 2 3/8 x 4 7/8 x 9/16 inches. A serene QING DYNASTY HAND CARVED GENUINE TURQUOISE DEITY WITH A BABY, ca. 1850 She is draped in long robes fluttering at the sleeves, her hair in a fine chignon. The turquoise of this divine statuette is of high quality, with even coloration. Dimensions without the wooden base are 8 cm x 3.5 cm.
Comes with the custom made wooden base.
Deity probably Taoist in soapstone. The god is standing, brandishing the Ying and the Yang. It must refer to a specific character and a story or legend. The work is finely executed and the style of the carving is unusual, cartoonish. In addition, the artist allowed himself to cheat by abnormally moving the left ear too close to the eye so that, seen from the front, the face is balanced...
Antique pair of Chinese Shi (fu-lions). Carved of wood and lacquered red. These traditional guardians were placed on either side of an important door to guard against dangerous spiritual elements and people. They are male (with his paw on a ball) and female (with a cub).

Late Qing Dynasty (1890s - 1911) small Chinese red coral carving of Guanyin - the Boddhisattva of Compassion - in her monastic robe. Nicely carved, beautiful true salmon red coral, narrow drilled hole allowing it to be used as a bead on a necklace or as a separate pendant. Height 1 1/16 inches.
A refined PAIR of gilded and matching Chinese wooden relief carvings, QING DYNASTY, 19th Century. Intricately hand carved scrolling, foliage, birds and flowers. Size: width 9" x height 3" x depth 2".

19th century Chinese soapstone figure of Guanyin - the Boddhisattva of Compassion - holding a large lotus leaf on a stem behind her back. Nicely carved out of beautiful cream colored stone, wonderful tranquil face, graceful flow to the lines of her robe. Top part of the lotus leaf is reattached, repair is done very well, overall in good condition. Fixed in good quality hardwood stand. Height with stand 7 1/8 inches.

Well carved from a single piece of boxwood, good details and fine patina. H 20 x L 13 x W 9 cm ca.
Condition: minor repairs/filled and minor losses as well as a few thin drying cracks.

This is a very fine pair of Spinach Jade Birds perching on a tree branch that is nested on a carved wood stand. The artisan has taken advantage of the jade skin to highlight certain areas, such as the lightest (celadon) color for their peaks, the darkest (spinach) for their body, and mottle portion of the stone for the birds tails...
This is a finely carved Celadon Jade figure of a Boy holding a Lotus Leaf Branch. It is a mostly of natural celadon color with a small patch of russet color in the back, near the waistline. This excellent rendition of a traditionally groomed 18th Century Boy is in excellent preserved condition.

Statue of a Taoist deity ("fashi"), in formal attire, sitting on a throne, holding his commandment baton in his right hand and a bowl containing the lustral water in his left. Wood, coated with traces of polychrome painting. Votive box at the back, lid missing. China, early 19th century, maybe earlier. Height: 20.7 cm. Abrasion due to age otherwise very good condition.
17th/18th C Chinese hardwood carving of Quan Yin. Beautifully carved with nice elegant lines, this statue has a wonderful patina than only comes with time. In very good condition there are a few age cracks which do not affect the integrity of the piece. There is some glue residue on the bottom where she was attached to an old lamp base.
