Antique 16th-18th century Tibetan Buddhist gilt bronze Shrine including, base and mandorla for Buddhist deities, also known as 'parikara' or 'prabha' (aureole). The base is decorated with a row of lotus petals and a mandorla chiseled with a flaming pattern.
Since gold was more expensive centuries ago than in modern times, gilding is found only on the front.
CONDITION: It shows its age and use. It has an old patina and gilding with age-related wear...

The Luminous Lord of Infinite Compassion sits in padmasana position with his hands held in front of his chest in the complex dharmachakra mudra. Antique Indian miniature panting of a harem scene. Wealthy residences had a protected area where all the women of the house lived. This scene takes place in the antahpur (inner courtyard) of such an area. A wealthy prince is entertained by three beauties. Around them is a lush garden with a fountain and a marble pavilion. This is a fragment from a Tibetan gilt copper mandorla, one of the side pieces that would have surrounded the central statue/figure. It measures 9-1/2" in height and is 3" at its widest point. The design, as the photos will show, is in four registers, with the Buddha uppermost. The workmanship is of excellent quality as, hopefully, the photos will confirm. There is a tiny split in the left edge so that the top panel could become detached if the piece were handled roughly...

A collection of 10 Buddhist and Bon ritual cards tsakli) painted with colors on paper from different sets, of which the most interesting and rare depicts a Wrathful Protector, 3 Vinaya cards and a Yogi belonging to the Bonpo school, and 5 Buddhist tsakli with ritual objects. Most of the cards have long inscription on the back side.

Condition: Of mixed quality, 3 in good condition, the rest quite worn.
