Ginbari and Musen enamelled silver vase Fish decor. Japan Meiji late 19th century.The lower part enamelled in celestial blue, decorated with fish in ginbari (incisions on the base metal) and musen (enameling without wires of much more complex realization). A dragon wraps around the collar. In the middle a finely damascened gold ring. Artist's mark below, signed with 2 characters incised in a gold cartridge...

Massive Pair of Japanese Cloisonne enamel baluster vases, Meiji Period, each decorated in brightly colored enamels with butterflies hovering above various types of flowering chrysanthemum bushes, all silhouetted against a mirror black ground, stylized floral bands encircling the shoulder, waisted at the neck and above the flaring foot, and wide abstract foliate bands at the rim and foot (slight damage to the foot)...

A fine and rare 19th century Japanese cloisonne bi-fold table screen in the Kyoto school of Namikawa, depicting a ho bird and dragon. The finely coiled wiring is gilded, as are the back panels of the screen. Each cloisonne panel is wood framed, joined with hinges of silver. Fully opened, the screen measures 8" high and 9" wide.

Condition: Quite fine, with only wear commensurate with age.

A 10.8" square tray signed Teizan and sealed Kinzan, mid Meiji period, depicting an unfortunate encounter between a hawk and a goose.

Condition: Quite good overall condition, There is a faint nick and short enamel crack to the front of the tray, two small areas of enamel cracking to the reverse, and pitting usual to the period. No dents or restoration.

Very elegant pair of Japanese cloisonne vases in the style of Hayashi. Dark midnight baby blue with sparrows flying amidst bamboo, with chrysanthemum flowers in exquisite detail, Top and bottom rims with special lapid in beautiful hues of orange, purples and greens. The natural scene in each vase are complimentary to each other and not identical. Vase are in perfect condition. Age: Meiji Period. Size: 9" Height x 4" Diameter.

Pair of dark blue cloisonne vases with scenes of birds among reeds. The base and mouth of the vases are bordered with an intricate design. The backs of the vases have a simple depiction of reeds with grasses. They measure 1.75" wide at base 11" tall. The bases are both signed with the same signature. Meiji period, 1868-1912.

An exquisitely detailed 5" silver wired scenic cabinet vase decorated with four panels, each representing a different bird - a white egret in a stream, a sparrow and bamboo, a hawk perched on a pine tree, and a finch on a flowering branch. Highly polished, the workmanship is exceptional. The throat and base are gilded, the rims silver. It is marked on the bottom rim within a reserve "SILVER". Condition: Excellent, with no chips, hairlines or repairs.

Antique Japanese small and exceptionally fine cloisonné vase. Four sided shaped body with a flower reserve on each side including irises, wisteria, chrysanthemums, daisies and maple. More fine details on the neck and sides.

Cloisonne enamel vase on hammered copper base. The meticulously positioned wires are in silver, as are the borders. The decor is simple, showing a bridge between two hills but exceptional because of its historical interest. Indeed it is a vase commemorating the bold construction of an aqueduct by a Japanese electricity company in the 1900s. The Chinese characters written below must relate the event, date it and also probably give the name of the creative artist or that of the enameling workshop...

This is a beautiful rare Japanese Cloisonne tray. If it were not signed, many would attribute this fine piece to the workshop of Namikawa Sosuke. The workmanship on this piece exceeds that of many other cloisonne trays to be seen with roosters or chickens. The tray measure just under 11 by 11 inches. Condition is very good but there is a slight indent on the rim with a minor bit of crazing at this spot on the reverse side. To view see the last 2 images.

This is a beautiful large Cloisonne vase from Japan. Besides the wire and wireless designs in the bamboo and rooster, the color of the ground color changes from top down to the bottom. The vase stands 12 inches tall and is not quite 6 inches wide. It has on minor flaw that could be factory and it is shown in the last image. It is an odd short line, that is difficult to see in the enamel under the bamboo leaves. A great piece that was probably made by Gonda or Ando.

This is a very rare and wonderful Japanese Cloisonne box. There are a wide variety of enamel colors and designs making this a very unique piece. The designs, mottled and translucent enamel colors strongly suggest that Honda is the artist. The rims are also Bronze and appear to have never been silver plated. Condition is excellent. There is minor scuffing to the bottom corners. The box measures 5 1/4 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 2 1/4 tall

Antique Japanese cloisonne vase with black enamel background; one side with imagery of two cranes standing beside a creek, bright flowers and bamboo in the background; the other side with a male peacock standing on a rock structure beside a female peacock, blooming peonies behind them. Geometric designs with scrolling vines and flowers decorate the neck. Lovely patina. The bottom of the vase is engraved with the signature Kamano. Size: 5.75" height

Japanese Late Edo Period Bronze and Cloisonne Phoenix Incense Burner, presented as a fantastic rendition of the subject, with gorgeous colorful inlay creating a great work of art. Height: 10.5 inches (17cm), length: 11 inches (18cm).

This is a special piece of Meiji Era Cloisonne Art. The jar is covered with colorful butterflies flying against a very dark blue/black enamel background. The jar measures 4 1/4 tall by 3 5/8 inches wide. Condition is outstanding but not perfect due to a very tiny blemish. The blemish can be seen in the first image next to the flash reflection.

A school of three finely shaded mackerel swim across a sea of mottled green on this 2.75 inch baluster form vase signed Ando Jubei. The upper rim is of copper, the lower silver.

An excellent piece with only the negligible pitting usual for the era.

A 3.5" vase of midnight blue depicting a pair of songbirds perched upon a branch of flowering prunus. Entirely silver wired, it has quite intricately wired rims and shoulder. The gilded base bears the seal of Ota Tamashiro

A trio of silver wired cloisonne red crowned cranes flies through goldstone clouds on the shoulder of this 4.5" emerald green basse-taille cloisonne vase. Splashing waves are incised in the silver body, the mark of Kumeno Teitaro is impressed on the base.

Condition: Quite fine, with no chips, hairlines or repairs.
