Japanese Imari Porcelain Double Gourd shape Vase, Ca. Meiji period, 1868-1912, 12" high, 1 3/8" diameter-top rim, 7" wide-widest section, 4" diameter-bottom rim, flying Phoenix bird and dragon inside four(4) separate round circles, and Mon design inside the top round circles, all decorate with typical overglaze red and underglaze blue, highlight in gold. Top rim has rough area with old tiny frit.

A matching set of 10 Imari porcelain bowls with panels of birds and cranes surrounded by a brocade border. There is a blue and white peach design in the center interior with gold highlights, and a blue marking on the bottom. The bowls measure 2" high and 6" in diameter. The bowls date to the Meiji period, Circa 1880. Condition: The condition of all bowls is excellent with some small kiln flaws, and the gold covered edges show some rubbing. A finely painted sometsuke bowls decorated with alternating reserves of three leaping koi divided by a criss-cross ground or “nets” and a central motif of a Chinese landscape featuring a figure collecting fire wood with his head looking skyward. This is probably a representation of Ceng Shen (So Shin) collecting fire wood, a disciple of Confucius , who whilst looking at the moon suddenly became aware that his mother needed him, a popular Confucian parable of filial piety...

An elaborately decorated Japanese porcelain elephant with applied beads of enamel and large areas of gold trim. There is a large five point gold leaf centered on its' back. The elephant measures about 9" long x 6" high x 4 1/4" wide, and dates to the early 20th Century. There is a badly worn "Made Japan" mark on the bottom of one foot. The condition is excellent, except for minor wear to some of the gold high points, like the forehead and ear edges...

Japanese late 18th century white IMARI figure of a gentleman. Formed by hand and made of white porcelain with a clear glaze. The gentleman is dressed in formal kimono and is carrying a fan. Done with wonderful expression and in very nice detail. The piece has some natural flaws in the clay and glaze, such as stress cracks and glazing flaws. The figure stands 17 1/2" tall, is 6 1/2" wide and is 5" deep.
