A small Satsuma Vase showing five men and five ladies dressed in gold decorated robes. The miniature vase is marked "Satsuma", and "Great Japan Made" (Meiji period 1868-1912). The vase measures about 2 3/8" tall, and the condition is excellent. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

The size of Imari Bowl: 6 1/4" Dia x 2 1/8" H.. This is unusual design of geese flying with gold cloud and moon over Susuki Grass(Japanese pampass Grass and wild flowers.) The design like Ogata Korin's. The inner border with red band with gold. It is deeper than regular Namasu bowl and little bigger. Outside bowl has nice Karakusa design in blue under glaze and lavender color painting. The condition of bowl excellent, no chip, no crack, and no hairline. No scratch on the surface...

19th century miniature Hirado porcelain sculpture of a reclining karako (Chinese boy) leaning on his right hand. Excellent crisp modeling with incised details - see his superb dreamy face, well defined hands and clothing details. Beautiful glaze with numerous tiny bubbles giving it depth, unglazed bottom. The line seen on the left side of his face is not a repair, but an original firing crack that got filled with glaze during firing, very pleasant to the touch...

A Fukagawa tea cup and 5 3/8 inch tea saucer dish. Iris decoration from Chuji Fukagawa's own 19th century design book. Blue underglaze and red, yellow and gold overglaze enamel decoration. Mt. Fuji mark in underglaze blue inside the foot rings. Late Meiji or early Taisho. Good condition. Priced for each cup and saucer, there are now three cups and saucers available. Japanese Meiji period "aka-e" (red) Kutani deep bowl finely decorated on the interior in overglaze rust-red and gilt highlights with three cartouches featuring two scholars in a bamboo grove, a bird in flight over foliage, and a spray of flowers, all set against a dense geometric patterned background. The exterior is decorated in three vignettes featuring foliage on rockery, a landscape scene, and a scholar reading a book. The base holds a red three-character "Kutani made" mark...

Four(4) Japanese Imari Porcelain Soba Noodle Cups, Ca. mid 1800's, late Edo or early Meiji period, 3 1/8" diameter-cup top rim, 2 5/8" high, decorated Lotus, Peony and other floral design on the Rock garden, in underglaze Blue and White plus some red, green used, highlighted with Gold touch. Two(2) hairline on the glaze, one(1) bruise about 1/4" long, one(1) cup is in good condition. this lot is same decoration as lot #3A13.

A Fukagawa Koransha Arita bottle vase, the glaze a very pale pink with decoration of grey leaves and three red cherries. Orchid (Koransha) mark in underglaze blue, early 20th century. Height "7/ 18 cm. Condition: slight wear to the gilt rim of the neck.

Japanese Kutani porcelain bowl decorated in gilt and overglaze polychrome enamels with a scene depicting two figures seated outdoors conversing under a tree. A geometric band interspersed with white flowers decorates the interior rim. There are fine "ao tsubu" (green dot) accents. The exterior is decorated on opposing sides with a prominent yellow flower and ribbon pattern. The base is signed in red "Kutani made." Believed to date from the early Showa Period (circa 1926 - 1935)...

This is a striking Japanese Imari porcelain hexagonal plate boldly decorated with an underglaze cobalt blue large scale design reminiscent of a textile pattern, having a broad scalloped border rim, wavy potting on top of plate, very heavy, greige ground color, the base having a single spur mark, measuring 10 in x 11 3/4 in; Original condition, several rim chips.

A good Arita moulded rinka gata form scalloped rimmed dish in Ai Kakiemon style. The front is decorated with a band of twenty four jewelled cash, shippo, to the rim and further shippo in ones and twos incorporated into mounds of grasses, presumably sasa, bamboo grass, of differing height, again arranged in ones and twos to create a pleasingly symmetric arrangement framing a central gobenka...

Japanese dish or bowl, Ko-Kutani revival from the Meiji period, late 19th century. Enameled in purple, yellow and green with a wave-line border surrounding a motif of poets (?) and a weeping willow in a mountainous seascape. Dark brown rim, the back with Kutani mark in green. Diameter "8 ½ / 21.5 cm. Condition: the back with some rubbing marks and a glaze bubble (cf. pics).

A lovely and very attractive Japanese bowl, with four dragons in a circular pattern. This lovely specimen dates to the Meiji period 1868-1912 and is well over 100 years old. In perfect condition, it measures in diameter 5.25 inches and 2.25 inches high

A pair of coral ground tea bowls, c 1900. Enamelled decoration in blue and green with black transfer printed contours. Since the use of printed decorations started earlier in Japan (in the 19th century) than in China it is probable that these bowls are Japanese. One bowl with illegible export (?) mark in red.
