LARGE RITUAL BRASS TRAY

Originally made and used as the traditional ritual tray for offerings in Korean Peninsula, early 20th century. Large and massive for this type. approx. D 17.5 x H 14.5 cm (6.88 x 5.70in)...

This antique Korean serving tray would have been used for serving tea or individual meals. The signature characters on the bottom are followed by the symbol for "student", presumably the tray was carved by an apprentice. The bottom also has rough darken areas for a more secure gripping surface and shallow attached feet which also have rough bottoms.

The tray has a delicately upturned lip, a deep rich red brown color. It is approx 13" x 9.5 inches...

Unusual and gorgeous fine grained elm wood. Traditional drop front for blankets and clothing. Classic oriental style with brass hardware, hinges and fixtures. Wooden candlestands in the form with such massiveness, early 20th century, Korea, approx. H 18 x D 11cm (7.08 x 4.33in) each...

Small charming and rustic Korean bandaji (blanket storage trunk). Made with roughly hewn thickly cut wood. Brass hardware including corner bracing and little bats along the bottom. 19th century. Size: 22 1/2" high x 27 3/4" wide x 14" deep.

Rare Pair of Boxes for Storing a Scholar's Name Seals, with Lovely Wood Grain and Metalwork. A scholar's name seals were among his most personal and treasured items. 6h x 5w x 5d inches, 15h x 12.5w x 12.5d cm.

Late Choson period, ca. 1900

Decorated in cobalt blue with a design of chrysanthemum and bamboo, stoutly potted and glazed with a clear glaze of faintly aqua tint. Very minor glaze pitting and surface scratches, slight wood ash dusting seen mostly on the shoulder of one side, small amount of sand adhering to the foot, otherwise very good condition.

HAEJUBAN TEA TABLE

Individual wooden table with such unique decorative carving made in Haeju (around Pyongyang of today) in Korean Peninsula, early 20th century, approx. 43 x 32.8 x H 27cm (16.92 x 12.91 x 10.62in). Handy lightweight structure as easy carrying and storing. In good condition, with some expected sign of use and repair at one leg (see photo#8) as is as seen. Beautiful Korean stacked clothing cabinet "Yi Chung Nong" in 2-sections with elm wood and inlaid hardwood design, and brass hardware, top section has a row of 3 small drawers on the top, with 2 sets of opening doors. An individual eating table for serving the meal of the day or drinks and treats to your guests. This table measures about 11" high x 16 1/2" in diameter, and dates to the late Joseon Dynasty. The table has a solid, heavy, carved twelve sided, hardwood top (elm), and a softer wood (like ginkgo) was used for the supporting structures, legs and stretchers.
