Korean Goryeo period stoneware bottle vase with wide shoulders tapering to the base and trumpet neck ending in a cup-shaped mouth covered overall in a finely crackled olive-rust tinted celadon glaze. The glaze stops irregularly above the flat, unglazed base that has burned red from firing. Circa 11th-13th century. 11 1/8” high. Good overall condition. This jar is stoutly potted, having a tall neck and flaring body, resting on a thick grit-coated footring and slightly recessed base. It is clear glazed without decoration. Small gray and brown iron impurities in the clay freely show through the clear glaze. This is a mingei type folk craft item intended to use in the home. There are several stable hairline cracks from age, stained brown in the rim area.

The Shallow circular dish tapering to a raised ring foot, decorated with inlaid white slip,
the interior with a centural flowerhead medallion surrounded by band of smaller impressed
flowerheads and stylized curtain rope pattern, the exterior applied with a luster celadon glaze over all, base unglazed.
It’s in very fine condition with a tiny chip to the rim...
