REFINED GORYEO JAR

Mature Korean excavated pottery ware with such sophisticated whitish designed texture from Pyongyang, ca. late Goryeo Dynasty, approx. H 30 x D 16cm (11.81 x 6.29in)...

A small Korean lidded burial jar from the Silla Dynasty, United Period, 8/9th Century. The jar has an overall stamped design, and shows kiln glossing over its otherwise unglazed exterior. The jar with lid measures about 4 1/2" high x 4 1/2" in diameter. The jar and lid are in very good condition, but there are a few very small chips on the lids' rims. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

A large kitchen storage jar that was made in North Korea. The Jar is an example of Korean folk art, and it has hand painted blue and green designs on a white base. There is brown staining to the exterior and interior surfaces, where the contents (probably soy sauce) bleed into the stoneware. There are two side handles for carrying. The jar measures about 16" high x 12" in diameter, and dates to the late Chosen Dynasty...

A ten piece collection of Korean Silla Dynasty stoneware pottery, made during the 5th through 7th Centuries. Such pottery was found in all the Royal tombs of this period to include the Gold Crown Tomb and the Gold Bell Tomb. Included in the collection is a very large pottery stand that measure about 15" tall x 18" in diameter, and a smaller pottery stand that measures about 11" tall x 11 1/2" in diameter. A Very Fine and Beautiful White Glazed/High Footed Bowl-19th C.: Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. The bowl, set on a slightly flared high ring footed and with slightly everted mouth rim, decorated in a white blue-tinged, warm and clear glaze applied overall evenly, with sand traces on the foot rim. It’s in very fine condition but a small chip on the foot rim (see photo), measures 6.6cm h. x 8.3cm d.

"Bun-in" is the last kiln for Joseon court. And there, high quality and sophisticated works were made. This piece with autumn flower has "wabi-sabi" feeling. In spite of damage of mouth, the repair part by lacquer and gold rather give more "wabi-sabi" feeling...

These offering stands were used in Korea on a family altar to elevate offering to worship ones ancestors. These stands were owned by poor people and farmers, and they are good examples of Korean folk art. The largest stand is about 6" in diameter, followed by one at 5 1/2" and the other at 4 3/4". All of them show spur marks and grit where they were stacked for firing in a large kiln. They are all in good condition with no damage. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

Korean Koryo Dynasty Celadon-Glazed Covered Box, Circa 13th Century

It is 1.3 inches (3.4 cm) tall by 3.5 inches (9 cm) wide. The wood carved box is is 3.5 inches (9 cm) tall by 4.4 inches (11.2 cm) long and 4.4 inches (11.2 cm) wide. It is 0.5 Lb.

It has skip glazes, dark spots, repairs to the inner rim, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A Very Fine Korean Buncheong White Slip Inlaid Bowl-15th C, : Korea, Joseon dynasty, 15th century. The deep bowl on short raised ring foot with everted rim, decorated in inlaid white slip with a central medallion of floral heads and dots surrounded by a narrow band of stylized double rings and wide band of “rope curtain” design, the exterior decorated en suite beneath a pale celadon glaze. It’ in good condition but some chips to foot-rim, it measures 19 cm d. x 8 cm h.
