A beautiful and rare excavated 17th Century Burmese Bronze Ganesh holding 4 objects in his hands and with a cobra snake hanging from his right shoulder and encircling his torso and back. The Ganesha is wearing a beautifully adorned garment around his waist. Naturally formed patina and some soil remnants are present. Excellent condition as well preserved in the earth cache. Double ikat, hand-spun cotton with natural dyes, exhibiting the Wayang keno kneeling figures in threaded in rust brown. Wayang Keno are known as the triad of three Hindu gods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. This textile is and would have been believed to possess healing properties as the name means "no disease". (Gering = disease, sing = no).
