Two interesting brown velvet panel fragments with botehs and flowers in silk embroidery and embellished with gilt and silvered sequins. Origin could also be Central Asia. This is an ancient bronze dagger or spear from Judea. It dates to roughly 1100 BC, around the time of King David. This elegant weapon measures 208mm in length and weighs 103 grams. It has a beautiful,natural patina and shows no signs of damage or repair except a slight bend near the tip. The metal is solid and stable.

This old Indo-Persian Bronze bowl has ornate repousse pattern and is heavily patinated with use and age. The upper rim edge has a few small chips from ages past. The bowl is 4.5 inches in diameter and about 2.3 inches high. The bowl is an artifact from the early 1800'S.

A fragment of a large hanging, depicting a kneeling Persian nobleman betweeen two horsemen. Embroidered in chain stitch on a coarse weave. A wooden spoon for sherbet, soup or rice made in two parts. Carved from light wood, the handle with inscriptions in ink under a varnish. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: 27.6 cm long.

A small box made of wood or papier-maché with hinged lid. Painted decoration under a lacquered varnish, showing the rose and nightingale motif "gul-u-bulbul". Provenance: a gentleman's collection, Geneva - Switzerland. Condition: traces of usage, the varnish is very glossy, lid slightly bent (please look at the photos carefully, they make part of the condition report). Dimension: c. 11.7 cm x 4.4 cm x 2.5 cm.

Cylindrical container made of brass with a domed cover and decorated base both close fitting. With engraved decoration in horizontal bands, the widest with eight medallions each containing a figure at leisure. Its function is not obvious, maybe an ink pot (davat) or a container for tobacco or spices. From an old Swiss collection. Condition: good, few tiny dents. Dimension: 7.5 cm high, diameter: 4.2 cm, weight: 80 g.

Two different pipes, the bowls made of Tophane clay embellished with gilding or gilded metal rim. The stems ar made of wood ending in a horn mouthpiece. One with mark. Condition: one bowl was broken in two and the other one with two chips. Dimension: total length: 35 cm and 16 cm.

Antique Islamic fruit sherbet spoon made of solid silver, 19th century Turkey. It has a Turkish Ottoman coin bowl and a long twisted stem handle. The silver is marked 800, indicating its grade, and has an elaborate finial in the shape of a crown. The finial is adorned with Islamic symbols, including a crescent moon and a star. The bowl is made of a 20 Kurush silver coin of Sultan Abdul Aziz II, which is dated AH 1277 (1861-1874 AD)...

This is an 18th-19th century Turkish Ottoman Islamic tinned copper ewer. The bulbous body rises from a short foot to a tapering neck. It has a hinged domed lid terminating in a foliate knop, an elegant S-shaped handle, and a curved spout.

A small pouch made of different Persian silk brocades "zar-baft" and egded with gold braids. Silk lining. An antique gunpowder flask called Barutdan was crafted in the 18th century in the Islamic Indo-Persian region. The flask is made of high-quality tooled leather and adorned with intricate designs characteristic of the region's artistic flair.

A pair of miniature size (3 1/2" by 4 3/8" inside the innermost mat) pages of the holy Qu'ran (Koran) of Islam, circa 19th century, and according to an auction house specialist, most likely Ottoman origin. (A handwritten modern note on the backing says Persia, circa 1800). Note the amazing detail and painstaking calligraphy and decoration. The pages are very nicely framed, with two mats and gold fillets. Framed the entire piece measures 19" by 15"...

A book cover made for a Qur'an, the originating country being North African or in the Middle East. A coarse weave is embroidered with green in counted stitch and with metal wrapped thread. The inside with very soft white leather. Condition: little wear and leather with stains. Dimension opened: 16.6 cm x 23.2 cm.

The basic fabric is a linen weave with black stripes. The ends are embroidered with a striped camel carrying a coffin to Mecca, in polychrome threads and decorated with fold silvered metal. Please refer to "Türkische Kunst und Kultur aus osmanischer Zeit", no. 4/9 e. ISBN 3-7647-0369-5. Condition: patina, some stains, loose and missing threads. Dimension: approx. 140 cm x 41 cm.

A Persian small brass or bronze box and lid from the Qajar period, 19th century. Of square shape with indented corners and exquisitely engraved with flowers and birds. A small circular reserve indicates which side of box and lid respectively are meant to fit into each other. Width "2 1/2 / 6.5 cm, height "1 2/3/ 4.2 cm. Condition: fine.

The ground fabric was certainly made in China. The ends of the shawl are finely embroidered in multi-colored silk yarn. The embroidery is identical on both surfaces. The sides with fringes or crochet work. Condition: one hole (near embroidery) and few tiny holes, few tiny stains and loose threads. Dimension: length without fringes: approx. 225 cm, width: 45 cm.
