A large silver tray of oval form with applied scrolling handles. The sloping sides of the salver with repousse decoration in the Turkish baroque style. Tughra and two other marks to either end of the tray, each handle with two hallmarks. Condition: traces of usage, the sides with two short cracks, one old repair with crack near the attachment of one handle (pic. 9). Dimension total: 41.5 cm long x 26.7 cm wide, weight: 760 g.

Antique Kilim runner of Turkish nomadic tribe origin. A series of 9 large bands, each with three large diamond shaped reserves inside which are crosses surrounded by protective hooked borders. Smaller protective diamond shapes and crosses fill in the space around each large motif. Bands of white with small crosses and diamond provide more protection. Hand woven of wool. Circa 1900. The glaze on this large fragmentary Iznik tile is brilliant, showing no sign of erosion or flaking. Although incomplete, it is probably 90% of the original size and is completely stable.
