Ancient Chinese Buddhist Pottery Amulet - Ming Dynasty

This is one of a group of moulded pottery tablets that we bought about twenty years ago. They are made from a relatively high-fired pottery and have a surprising amount of detail, including the sun and the moon in this example...

This intricately detailed necklace was created by Mexico, City artist Matilde Poulat in the 1940-50's. The center panels are comprised of inlaid branch coral, turquoise & coral beads & a centered oval amethyst. The panels measure 4" across x 2" high. The necklace has a wearable length of 18 inches. It is in beautiful, well cared for condition with a gorgeous patina that only comes with age. Fully hallmarked for MATL with an eagle #129...

A Chinese silver scenic links bracelet from the 1920s. This unmarked (but tested) silver 7-3/8 x 1" bracelet features six curved high relief hand tooled links depicting a dragon, historical figures and flowers. It has a pushbutton box clasp and loops for a safety chain (not present) and it probably dates to the 1920s but it may be earlier. It weighs 35.6 grams and it is in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the missing safety chain...

A typical product from Duandian kiln Lusan county, Henan province of Tang Dynasty(8th-9th century) like this ware was preserved very well with obvious incursions left on the glaze. Some molding defects were found on the foot bottom and the burial dirt was hardened to the chips...

Being beautifully decorated on the surface with colorful splashes, the water pot was authenticated as an archaic piece from Changsha kiln of Tang dynasty.
By a very fine condition of the glaze, the porcelain item was justified as a sought-after piece when most of the items found were in poor condition by severe degradations...

This is design 5580A by Margot de Taxco. It is an excellent example of how Margot worked her designs into more function than any other Maestro of the Spratling Era. The drop unhooks and turns into a brooch that is 1.75 in. long. The links have heft and dimension as they are .25 x.25in. boxed shape repousse with hand made bead ornamentation. The weight is a generous 50 grams of repousse. The wearable length is about 16in. with a curve at the drop that makes it hard to be exact...

Stunning, sculptural 970 sterling silver hand carved beads necklace strung on sensuous velvet cord designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico modernist silver Maestro Antonio Pineda. Rare Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Painted Pottery Pack Horse (AD 386 - 534)

This very rare pottery model of a pack horse, or pony, was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a grey pottery that has been "cold painted" with traces of red and white pigments remaining. Note the detail of the saddle bags and pack. Interestingly, on the surface of the back left hoof is a heavy rust deposit suggesting this horse lay alongside an iron object during its long burial. ...

Intricately carved with a three legged toad (wealth) resting on a leaf, next to a lotus pod with movable hardwood seeds, under the leaf a spider and another insect and two frogs on the stem of the lotus pod.
