Today we have a special Matl by Matilde Poulat brooch / pendant created with droplets normally seen and then one original heart drop in the center. The hallmark is one of the oldest signatures for Matilde Poulat as shown. The pear shaped amethyst in it's center is mounted with a cut out back which is also an indicator of age. Lovely example of Han tomb sculpture. Made of red pottery, painted with red, white and black pigments. Both are in good condition, with normal age wear. Please note the remains of plant roots on one of the oxen, a very good sign of authenticity. A TL report from Ralf Kotalla confirms the age. H. 16 cm, L. 20 cm.

This vintage, hand wrought wearable work of art comprised of sterling silver, pyramid shaped amethyst & channel set turquoise was designed & signed c. 1934-48 by Taxco, Mexico artist Matilde Poulat. This is a magnificent sterling and rutilated quartz bracelet by Danish designer Bent Knudsen. There are 7 stones of the highest quality and sitting high in their settings. Signed La Estrella Taxco 980 this lotus pectoral is an exceptional work. Several artists created the Lotus design. The Taller of La Estrella produced the most beautiful pectorals and they are rare. The shop was only in business in Taxco for around 2 years. Not much is known because they were not there long but everything I have found has been astounding. This lotus has broader sweeps with the pectoral wings and the S links are longer than other makers. The drop is 4 inches long and 5 in. across....
In bhumisparsa mudra, sitting on a stepped lotus stand. Originally the Buddha was holding a fan, which is missing. It dates from the late 18th to early 19th century. H. 29 cm.

This Ledesma parure is set with natural, green, sparkly Chrysoprase. All three pieces are hallmarked as shown and the earrings are clip backs. The clips are tight and in excellent condition. An extremely old mask said to come from Darchula district in the far West Nepal however this mask shares striking similarities with masks from Himachal Praddesh. A 19th century (Edo to Meiji periods) gilded bronze branch bearing three golden fruits, each of which opens to reveal a small compartment. It is 19 cm (7-1/2 inches) long, 6 cm (2-1/2 inches) tall and comes enclosed in an age darkened kiri-wood box. Certainly of Buddhist connotations, it likely held some small sweets or incense.
