This hand made beater board was used with an old backstrap loop by one of the hill tribes of northern Thailand. Now, as a folk art tool from another culture, it is an authentic ethnographic artifact and is also an interesting piece of sculpture.

The beater board is 4 inches wide and 27+ inches long, and has lost a few "teeth" with age.

 

A nice covered celadon jar, covered overall with smooth blue green glaze. Unglazed base. 14th century. Longquan Kilns, Zhejiang. Condition : chip on the rim with star crack on the body and cover. Dimension : High: 12.5 cm, Diameter 13 cm.

This is a very rare image of baby krishna. He is usually depicted crawling, but this posture where he's trying to put his foot in his mouth is rarely seen. The figure was cast in Gangna-Jumna (two metals) technique. Made in Orissa in the 18th century. Good wear and lovely patina. L. 7 cm. Provenance: private collection Belgium.

These jars have measure heght from 5 cm to 6.5 cm. Condition : Six lobed jar has some frits on the botttom and body. The others are perfect condition.

 

Porcelain connical bowl decorated with famille rose enamels against a turquoise ground with children engaged in playful activities. The base holds an character red Jiaqing reign mark on a square white ground. The interior is glazed while the exterior mouth and foot rim are unglazed. DIMENSION : 26 cm diameter. PERIOD : Jiaqing (1796-1820) CONDITION : No chips. cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations.

A rarely seen image of Vaishnavi, the consort of Lord Vishnu and also one of the eight Matrikas. Excellent casting, nice wear and patina due to Puja worship. H. 14 cm (5,5 inch), W. 10 cm (4 inch). Provenance: private collection Belgium.

A fine antique Bronze Statue of an Oni finely detailed casting in the finest Japanese tradition of bronze works. Cast in three pieces body pined to base. Measuring 17"T x 15"W x 11D.

A wonderful example of funerary gifts, these pottery horses with glazed and cold painted decoration. The heads are detachable. Both horses are in excellent condition without traces of repair. Hight 30 cm. China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

A beautifully decorated Qing dynasty famille rose plate with 5 different brightly coloured butterflies alternating with bamboo leave, melon plant, chrysanthemum flower, morning glory flower and cherry flower. The base of the plate bears the six-character reign mark of Guangxu (1875-1908) and of the late Qing Dynasty period.

There is a minor firing fault at the top right hand corner where the reign mark is...

Grey green glazed with incised flower scroll decoration on shoulder. Unglazed concave base . Height = 8 cm Width = 12 cm. Yuan Dynasty 14th Century. Condition : Very good with minor frit on the base, no hairlines, cracks or restorations.

Description;

A Song inkstone in slender form was with sunken square pool.
In slight green tint of the Duan stone quality, it was quite clean on the surface when old patina and wave-like stone veins were yielded on the reverse side.
By a good size, it was most likely a practical scholar item rather than just a piece for burial use.

Lovely lacquerware inro, decorated with fish an seashells. With a coral ojime and a carved cinnabar lacquer netsuke. Meiji period (1868-1912). Signed at the bottom. Measurements: the inro 6x5,5 cm, the netsuke 3x2 cm.

Qingbai double gourd ewer with stylized dragon handle; bluish white glaze stopping above the base which is concave and unglazed. Yuan Dynasty 13th-14th Centuries. Height = 12 cm, Width=11 cm. Condition : handle restored.

Jar decorated with floral scroll on the body and clouds around the neck, and petal panels near base. Chenghua. Height = 10.8 cm Perfect condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations, tiny frittings on the mouth.

A brass bowl of rounded form with engraved decoration and beautiful patina. Between two bands of interlace decorated with quatrefoils, arabesques and calligraphic inscriptions. Base with islamic numerals. Condition: some wear, little dents, a small crack. Dimension: diameter: 24 cm, 12.2 cm high, weight: 1145 g.

Bowl covered with green celadon glaze , unglazed base. PERIOD : late Ming (1566-1643 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 16 cm wide. CONDITION: a yiny frit and chip ; free from restorations.

This pouring vessel is in the form of an amber glazed rooster. It dates from the Ming period. Measure : H=16 cm, W = 9 cm, L= 20 cm. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a little crack on the tail of rooster and glaze degradation on some area.

Small vase - two lugs covered with blue green glaze to the foot, unglazed base. PERIOD : 14th-15th Century MEASUREMENTS: 8 cm tall ; CONDITION: no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restoration.

This is a small Tang Dynasty funerary sancai or tri-colour tea cup. It stands on a flat and small footrim and then everted flat and vertically upwards towards and everted mouth rim. The tri-colour are green, beige and amber, both in long streak in interior of the cup and some form of flower motif on outside.

There is no repair or restoration, some abrasion, firing and manufacturing faults which can be seen on the photos...

A dark blue satin woman's garment, dating to the late Qing dynasty, with center opening fastened with a gilt metal ball button and two ribbons. The four lobed collar, terminating in ruyi heads, and all wide hems extravagantly embroidered with romance figures in Peking stitch and little gold thread couching. Trimmed with different woven borders, the straight sleeves with embroidered outer cuff bands. Later figured blue silk lining. Condition: very good, only partial little staining...

Ewer or poring vessel with straight wallet neck and a wide foot which has a cut footrim and recessed base.The handle is flat and double grooved. The sides are decorated with lightly curved criss-cross paterns. Glaze greyish white. Found at Borneo. Height=15 cm. Period : Song Dynasty 12th-13th. Condition : chip on rim and spout. Red silk ground fabric decorated with silver and gold paper wrapped thread, using the songket supplementary weft technique. The center field with stylized flower heads, ending in rows of triangles. Woven in two parts and sewn together lengthways. Condition: clean, wear to the metallic twine, only partially preserved. Holes, repaired splits and holes, wear, deterioration of the rims. Dimension: 170 cm x 113 cm.

Fine cracled celadon bowl with lotus petal carved on exterior, greyish green glazed to foot rims, unglazed base. Width = 10.3 cm, Height=5 cm. Song Dynasty 10th-13th Century. Condition: Excellent, no hairline, chip or restoration.

Japanese Ivory Netsuke of a turtle finely carved artist signed in excellent condition. Measuring approx 2.5 inches long 6 centimeters. a fine addition to any collection.

Celadon charger decorated with incised flower on the center, and key fret scroll. W = 29 cm. Qianlong 1736-1795. Condition : Excellent with a very tiny frit on the rim.
