A fine 18th century Chinese molded celadon-glazed porcelain dish, finely decorated continous chrysantemum scroll around the center with encircling a chrysantemum spray, a band of key-fret pattern around the foliated rim, covered overall in green glazed. DATE : Qianlong (1736 - 1795). SIZE : D = 26.5 cm CONDITION : very good condition, no chips, no cracks, two hairlines and no repairs.

Description: A magnificent stone head of Louhan( or Lokapala ) was from 13th century. Unearthed from a relics of a temple near Shichuan, this head piece was preserved very well with original red mineral pigment and gold leaf. In an awesome facial expression, the Budhist saint was rendered finely in the features and showing a strong form that was unusually seen in the Chinese traditional sculptures. An antique wood statue of the Boddhisattva Wei Tuo, the guardian of the Buddhist principles, dating to the late Qing dynasty. Carved in two parts with gilding and red color. He is standing on a rock imitating base, dressed as a warrior and holding the vajra staff. Condition: one hand with tiny losses, parts of scarf missing, top of helmet with a lost insert, vajra staff, one hand and back with glued patches. Dimension: total height: 38.5 cm, figure: 31.5 cm, weight: 1300 g.

An haunting 17th century sumi-e image of a goose at twilight by Kano Toun (1624-1694) in the original Edo silver threaded brocade border patterned with clouds, upper and lower extensions of heavy coffee colored cloth ending in ivory rollers. The almost complete dominance of white seems to convey a passage through space, from clarity into obscurity, leaving the viewer with a slight sense of loss echoing in ones memory...

A Beautifully carved tube shaped jade. It is hard to date this piece and cannot say that it is from the Hongshan period (3000BC). It is most likely from a later period as these item are extremely rare. It is not know what these were used for but it is thought to be for the hair ornament to hold the pony tail. Size: L. 8cm. 8 3/8" high Japanese treebark vase decorated on the front with a landscape motif. Tree-bark (Jitaisome Jippo) is a form of ceramic cloisonne in which the colors are done using lacquer rather than enamel. Using lacquer to cover the porcelain jar to resemble treebark, the wires are set into the lacquer to form the designs and the cells are filled with lacquer and polished. This lacquer is not fired. Dates from the Taisho to early Showa period...

This estate piece is a superb Japanese Imari plate, Meiji Period, having a central medallion and eight panels, scalloped gilded edges, white ground with hand painted polychrome floral and brocade decoration, red mark, blue and rust color design on underside of plate. Good-excellent condition, some wear to gilt, measures 8 3/8" diameter.

Small Chinese Tang Dynasty Painted Pottery Ox / Bull

This small and attractive pottery model of an ox, or bull, was made during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). It is quite "heavily-potted" and made from a reddish pottery. It has been "cold painted" in a base coat of white pigment on top of which have been applied reddish-brown and red pigments. On the surface in places are white "calcified" deposits from its long burial. Length 14.5 cm, height 13 cm...

A beautifully Qing dynasty enamelled pink-ground "famille rose" bowl with seal mark and period of Hsien Feng (1851-1861) and of the period. Brightly painted with alternating upright lappets surrounded by meandering foliate and branching leaf on an incised with a wave like pink background. The interior of the bowl is evenly applied with light turquoise enamel.

There are no sign of cracks or chips...

The largest vase I have ever seen for sale by Miyagawa (Makuzu) Kozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seika Sansui taki-ho-ga Kabin (Blue and White Vase decorated with waterfall Mountain Scene). A figural painted wooden gun powder flask in the form of a Makara with a maiden holding a pot, protruding from its mouth. Missing stopper. Condition: lost stopper, paint with some wear. Dimension: c. 19 x 17 cm.

A nice and quite rare globular form jar with small mouth rim, decorated with main pattern of 'ruyi' scroll to the body. Condition is perfect excepted minor glaze flaw, no chip/no crack and free from any restoration. Ming dynasty 15th century. High: 6.6cm and Body wide: 7.3cm

Koi frolic, splashing gold and silver waves as they leap and battle for the top of this stacking food dish dating from the later 19th century. The design is striking! Outside is polished black loaded down with gold and silver maki-e with applied kirigane cut gold squares. Inside is festive red. The box (assembled) is 25 x 23 x 38 cm (10 x 9 x 15 inches). Some minor dings but overall, very nice condition for something which has seen use.

Rare Chinese Ming Dynasty Monochrome Moulded Porcelain Wine Cup

This rare porcelain wine cup was made during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) or possibly a little earlier. To the lower body is a band of moulded Buddhist rui lappets together with a moulded seal mark within the foot. The white porcelain body is particularly translucent, highly-fired with a high-pitched ring when tapped.

Diameter 5.5 cm, height 3.5 cm...

A blue & white bowl, decorated outside with continuously flower scroll and inside the center with "Fu" character within double circle. Early Ming 15th century. Condition: small restored to rim missing (result visible on the last enlargement), further in good condition.

Chinese Northern Wei Dynasty Pottery Horse with Female Rider

This attractive model of a horse and rider was made during the Northern Wei Dynasty (AD 386 - 534). It is made from a grey pottery that has been cold painted in a creamy-white pigment on top of which have been applied other coloured pigments. Note the detail of the female rider's facial features and hairstyle.
