Fine Chinese Western Han Dynasty Painted Pottery Horse (206 BC - AD 8)
This fine pottery model of a horse was made during the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - AD 8). It is made from a fairly high-fired fine-grained grey pottery and has been "cold painted" in a pale pink pigment with details on top in red and black pigments. The horse stands upright and alert.

A beautiful Suiseki mounted on rich red carved wood base enclosed in a custom made kiri-wood display box. There is a sublime balance between the ragged peaks and deep clefts in the stone, and excellent example of the Renzan (Range) type of stone. The stone is 37 x 10 x 12 cm (15 x 4 x 5 inches) and is in excellent condition. There is one very small nick in the wooden base (1/8th of an inch or 3 mm in size). Together the stone and box weight 3.5 kilograms (roughly 8 pounds)...
This carved wooden dragon head and RuYi symbol is from an old Buddhist temple monastery in Inner Mongolia, a region that is now part of China. This piece was probably used to stablize joint between a support post and a rafter beam. Hand carved from teak wood, both sides have the same dragon head at one end and the ruyi form at other end which images as the dragons tail.
The carving is 32 inches long, 3 inches thick and is 9 inches high...
