A cricket cage made of a long bodied gourd with ivory mounts to accommodate the ivory and tortoise shell lid. The surface of the gourd has a leathery look from age. The tortoise shell piece has intricate pierced carvings of the "Eight Taoist Symbols" amidst curling tendril patterns. Period: Ching (19th Century)

Description: A Yinquing ewer or water dropper was kept with its original cap. Produced from Jindezheng of Jiangxi province, it was an exquisite Qingbai(bluish white) porcelain manufactured in one of the Hutien kilns. On the surface, when motifs of flowers were framed with 16 different sectors, subtle pinhead incursions were randomly spread in the bluish glaze. It happened to the surface of the cap too. Characteristic chalk-feel body clay was revealed at the bottom...

A well painted late 19th Century Chinese Moon Flask decorated with scrolling lotus design and with panels on each side depicting two confronting dragons. There are two 'chilong' dragons on the shoulders. This item was made during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). In a fine greenish tint, the bottle’s glaze was evenly applied nearing to the edge of the bottom. Through enduring age, the glaze was kept in a fine and stable condition when sophisticated and retrospective luster was reflected in a charming look. Under the glaze, regular patterns were imprinted around the shoulder for decoration...

This Chinese pipe is from the Miao Ethnic Minority group in the vicinity of Rong Jiang. My Miao friends insist that this pipe would have been used for smoking tobacco and not opium. Made from silver alloy, the stem design has the two dragons chasing the center pearl.

The pipe is in very good condition and is 19" long and it comes with its own custom made stand.

Even though excavated with imperfections, the lion was still momentum by his strenuous muscle, the strong limbs and the flouring manes.
Bing preserved with original condition from excavation, the lion was perfectly fit to a custom-made brass base which was desighed and hammered by a modern metal artist...

Description: A Fine Yue bowl was intriguingly mold in the center with a sculpted animal. By good metaphor of prosperity of a pig or a pigsty for riching the family, the bowl was a characteristic type of the Jin periods. It was well applied with charming greenish glaze when grayish and foggy incursions were happened to some portions of the surface. The bottom was revealed with the grayish body clay...

A Chinese man would have worn this egg shaped wooden tobacco container hanging from his belt. Both front and back are decorated with metal studs and fitting attached with copper nails. The lid is hinged and held in place by a decorative pin which is pulled up to open.

Description: A white-glazed tea caddy was rarely found with an original cap. Preserved in a very good condition, the capped jar was in plain form without any decoration. Firing effect was obviously revealed in the body clay. It is a fine piece for the storage of some fine tea or a decent vase-like jar on the shelf too. Obviously came from a standing or sitting torso, the head was broken off by natural cause or due to the religious chaos in the ancient time. It was carved from the sandstone which in beige color-- a typical stone material usually found in northwest China...
