Description: A beautiful Longquan bowl was kept in perfect condition. In fantastic celadon glaze, light whitish incursions was dispersed around the mouth rim and at the foot rim. When potted heavily of the body, carved motifs were in the the middle of the cavetto and around the outer surface. A good Ming ware with typical shape can be ideally used in a practical way. Decorated in underglaze blue and underglaze red, depicting scenes of immortals and children in a garden. H. 28 cm. Republic period (1912-1949). Very good condition, no cracks or repairs, only some firing flaws on the mouth rim.

An unusual decorative wooden sword (tea room sword) carved of hardwood in the shape of a dried fish signed on the belly pierced and wrapped with a faded silk chord. An excellent example of the genre it is 13-1/2 inches (34 cm) long and in fine condition.
It is said that these wooden swords were produced from the mid to late Edo period, in lieu of swords for those not allowed to carry weapons (all but samurai)...

An incredibly detailed mid to late 19th century Izushi-yaki Hakuji (white porcelain) image of a samurai and his lover enjoying a moment together; the robes, accessories and musculature being extremely well shaped. The pair are made of solid white clay, sculpted in the style and with the attention to detail typical of Hirado ware however the glaze is more textured than work expected of that region, indicative of Izushi...

Description:

A light tinted celadon cup was in unique octagonal shape.
Well crackled in the glaze, the cup was supported by the short stem foot from which the brownish body clay was revealed at the bottom.
It was probably being used as a wine cup or for tea drinking.
Whatsoever, it was a fine piece by all the characteristics with old condition.

This is a pair of Japanese Imari Porcelain double gourd Bottles, Meiji Period, painted with floral motifs in the typical Imari palette. Excellent condition. Measurements: 13 in H approx.

An Ancient wooden casket for Buddhist ritual implements lacquered black and decorated with lotus flowers in silver and gold on scrolling vines with an inscription beneath stating it was donated in the New Year of Kenmu 2 (1334). The lacquer, originally black, has oxidized to a mellow chocolate color. It is 33.5 x 18.5 x 13 cm (13 x 7-1/2 x 5 inches). As one may imagine there is a great deal of wrinkling of the lacquer from shrinkage, some losses and much wear to the edges...

Description:This superb glazed bowl was made in the Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906). The bowl has been glazed in a yellowish glaze with the freely-drawn design in green and brown glazes. Diameter 15 cm. Condition: There is a tiny chip to the rim and the four areas of brown flaking glaze to the sides have been touched up .An unique example very rarely offered for sale. Similar example was seen at the book of "The Chinese Potters' Exploration of Iron Oxide Glazes".

A shallow dish, heavily potted, covered in a beautiful celadon glaze producing the crackles of the Geyao type glaze. The recessed base is glazed while the foot rim is dressed with an iron brown wash. Two rare Chinese Song dynasty qingbai (yingqing) glazed porcelain dishes of chrysanthemum form with thinly potted bodies, an upturned rim divided into twelve lobed petals by vertical ribs, and flat, slightly concave unglazed bases. Circa 10th - 11th century. 4 1/8” diameter. There are a few tiny flea bites at the rim which are visible under magnification and there are a few old hairline cracks that appear to be stable...

Description: A white jade carving of a boy holding a lotus bud was from 18th century. With very good carving skill depicting the smiling face, the robe and the posture, the jade figurine was preserved in good condition except with some frets on the heels. People always say that jade is hard to date. To this piece, the obvious facial characteristics can speak fully the old imagery of a Chinese figure...

Chinese ink and color on silk vertical painting attributed to Qian Weicheng (1720-1772) depicting figures in a landscape scene. At the top, a waterfall cascades from high mountains into a stream that runs past traditional buildings set among dense green trees and foliage. At the bottom, two men are seated in a pavilion and one man crosses a bridge over the stream...

This lovely pair of vintage Cree gauntlets or long mittens has fine hand stitch-work floral decoration; they are hand stitched deer hide with cut fringes, and they have a yellow felt interior. Description:

A Jizhou tea bowl was applied with dark brown nearing black glaze on the surface.
Uniquely and characteristically, a leaf motif was decorated on the surface.
By greasy-feel quality of the characteristic Jizhou glaze, the surface was covered with slight burial adhesives when subtle crackles were rendered in the glaze underneath.
By also convincing look of the body clay which revealed at the bottom in soft quality, the foot ring was surrounded by shallow wall...

Japanese limited edition woodblock print by French artist Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) titled "After the Dance" (Apres La Danse. "Celebes") published June 29, 1940. This image is illustrated on page 59 (plate 67) of “The Prints of Paul Jacoulet” by Richard Miles, 1982. It is described on pages 104-105. The print is pencil-signed and bears the red butterfly seal at the lower left corner of the image. The seal of the carver and printer (Maeda/Fujii) is at the lower right margin corner...

Each camel from Tibet was "adorned" with 3 bells...one large bell hang from a strap around the camel's belly, a 2nd bell was strapped around the neck, and the 3rd bell was hung from the camels tail. This old camel's bell was used on the caravans travailing between Tibet, across China and into Mongolia...
