Description: A beautiful Longquan bowl was kept in perfect condition. In fantastic celadon glaze, light whitish incursions was dispersed around the mouth rim and at the foot rim. When potted heavily of the body, carved motifs were in the the middle of the cavetto and around the outer surface. A good Ming ware with typical shape can be ideally used in a practical way. An unusual decorative wooden sword (tea room sword) carved of hardwood in the shape of a dried fish signed on the belly pierced and wrapped with a faded silk chord. An excellent example of the genre it is 13-1/2 inches (34 cm) long and in fine condition.
It is said that these wooden swords were produced from the mid to late Edo period, in lieu of swords for those not allowed to carry weapons (all but samurai)...

Description:

A light tinted celadon cup was in unique octagonal shape.
Well crackled in the glaze, the cup was supported by the short stem foot from which the brownish body clay was revealed at the bottom.
It was probably being used as a wine cup or for tea drinking.
Whatsoever, it was a fine piece by all the characteristics with old condition.

Date: Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644.

An Ancient wooden casket for Buddhist ritual implements lacquered black and decorated with lotus flowers in silver and gold on scrolling vines with an inscription beneath stating it was donated in the New Year of Kenmu 2 (1334). The lacquer, originally black, has oxidized to a mellow chocolate color. It is 33.5 x 18.5 x 13 cm (13 x 7-1/2 x 5 inches). As one may imagine there is a great deal of wrinkling of the lacquer from shrinkage, some losses and much wear to the edges...

Two rare Chinese Song dynasty qingbai (yingqing) glazed porcelain dishes of chrysanthemum form with thinly potted bodies, an upturned rim divided into twelve lobed petals by vertical ribs, and flat, slightly concave unglazed bases. A Jizhou tea bowl was applied with dark brown nearing black glaze on the surface.
Uniquely and characteristically, a leaf motif was decorated on the surface.
By greasy-feel quality of the characteristic Jizhou glaze, the surface was covered with slight burial adhesives when subtle crackles were rendered in the glaze underneath.
By also convincing look of the body clay which revealed at the bottom in soft quality, the foot ring was surrounded by shallow wall...
