Group of Four Chinese Three Kingdoms Glazed Pottery Entertainers with Oxford TL Test

This very rare group of glazed pottery entertainers was made during the Three Kingdoms period (AD 220 - 265) or possibly the earlier Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 25 - 220). The group comprises two female figures and two male figures. They are made from a reddish-brown pottery and coated in an amber coloured glaze that is slightly crackled...

A true part of Kyoto modern ceramic history, this robust vase reminiscent of Okinawan Kaki-otoshi ware was created at the Kyoto 2nd Industrial School circa 1925. It comes in the original wooden box titled Black Glazed Vase with Flower Motif, and signed inside Kyoto Shiritsu Dai Ni Kogyo Gakko followed by a large red seal. It is 27 cm tall, 23 cm diameter and in excellent condition. The roots of the mingei movement, ravaging the Japanese ceramic world at the time, are clearly evident...

Covered box decorated with Chilong on the cover, glazed base. PERIOD : Wanli (1563 – 1620 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 15 cm length, 5 cm wide. CONDITION: two chips on the onner rim, it doesn't look when displayed, no other damages.

Longquan celadon censer with tripod. Celadon glazed and unglazed on the base. PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 12.5 cm wide, 7 cm tall. CONDITION: broken but no missing part.

Description:

A black-glazed Cizhou censer was characteristically decorated on the the surface with striking russet strips.
Supported by three squeezed feet on the bottom, the censer owned a round body which extending upward to a wide mouth.
The mouth was framed with a flat band of rim which in everted slope.
It was well preserved in perfect condition and owned the very characteristics for authentication.

Description: A Temmoko tea bowl from Song Dynasty was found in rare opportunity. As a typical decoration of streaking and mottling of Temmoko wares, the surface of this Temmoko bowl was uniquely fired in silver effects. With bluish tint yielded under the light, the irregularly formed silver streaks engraved into the black surface of the glaze. The unglazed foot rim was in black and had some star like reflection due to being tinged with some of the glaze...

A full necklace of a mixture of cylinder, annular, tubular and truncated ellipsoid carnelian beads. There are also two "bullet" beads. This is a complete necklace - not random pieces put together. A superbly b/w long neck bottle vase, with finely potted and well balance, decorated with six panels to the body featuring emblems motif, bamboo scroll, flower and peach. The neck with hanging dots motif. Ming dynasty 17th century Kraak type ware, Wanli phase. Condition is perfect, except minor old chips to the foot rim, free from restoration. High: 29.4 cm.

Description;

A Song inkstone in slender form was with sunken square pool.
In slight green tint of the Duan stone quality, it was quite clean on the surface when old patina and wave-like stone veins were yielded on the reverse side.
By a good size, it was most likely a practical scholar item rather than just a piece for burial use.

A very rare Japanese Ballot Box of hinoki wood bound in decorative iron dating from the later 19th to early 20th century. This year the ballot is on everyone’s mind, and this is an exceptional example of both traditional Japanese decoration and cabinetry. It has locks on both sides of the lid, which can be removed to reveal an inner lid with hinged iron cover over a slot for dropping in the ballots. This inner lid as well is locked...

A finely b/w bowl, rounded sides body and decorated at the exterior with four continuously blossoms of Indian lotus. Stylistic private kiln seal mark on the base. Ming dynasty Jiajing period (1522-1566) Condition of the bowl is excellent, no any chips, no cracks and flawlessly as well. Diameter: 12cm and High: 6cm.
