Large Chinese Ming / Yuan Dynasty Longquan Celadon Porcelain Dish with Peony Pattern

This large and "heavily-potted" dish was made in the 14th century at one of the Longquan kilns in Zhejiang province, during the Yuan (AD 1279 - 1368) or early Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). It is the archetypal large Longquan celadon dish, an example of which should really be in every serious collection of Chinese ceramics.

It has a fluted cavetto and a carved peony in its centre...

This old Japanese hook would have been suspended over the hearth and used to hang cooking pots over the fire. Obviously carved by the original owner/user, this pothook or jizai kagi is heavily grooved from many years of use. The attached rope is probably a replacement to the original rope. It has been knotted into place for some years and I decided not to attempt to remove it.

Description: The ovoid pot was suffused with striking purple bluish splashes on the surface. Standing on a circular solid foot with beveled edge, the jar has a bulge shoulder and a rolled rim to the mouth. A typical product from Duandian kiln Lusan county, Henan province of Tang Dynasty(8th-9th century) like this ware was preserved very well with obvious incursions left on the glaze. Some molding defects were found on the foot bottom and the burial dirt was hardened to the chips...

Finely cast, with good wear and excellent patina. H. 13,5 cm (5.6 inch)

This Chinese winter court officials hat has an elaborate gold acorn finial, silk velvet brim, and red silk tassels. The black chin strap cord is tied with a double adjusting slip knot. The hat is in good condition.

Porcelain decorated with qilin on the center, continous floral scroll on the exterior, glazed base. PERIOD : Early Ming (1400-1487 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 24 cm wide. CONDITION: one hairline, glaze flaws to the rim; free from restoration.

Decorated with chrysantemum scroll on the body, early lappets near base and classic scroll on the neck. Yuan Dynasty Diameter = 12 cm, Height = 11 cm Condition : broken with complete part.

An extremely fine and rare Korean celadon cup & stand. The cup in flower shaped form with a thinly potted and divided into eight lobed each decorated with a single inlaid black and white chrysanthemum blossom, three spurs mark appear to the base. The top of the stand decorated with four blossoms inlaid of chrysanthemum spray as well, the foot area with carved style border, five spurs mark to the base. Covered overall with a bluish green glaze...

This is a finely potted 8 lobed qingbai ewer from the Yuan dynasty. It stand on a flatten base with a sunken centre. On the base, there are also 4 iron brown spur mark. The good quality glaze with a tinge of bluish hue suggest that it could be from the Hutian kiln, the most famous kiln complex in the Jingdezhan area.

With the exception of some abrasion and a black spot (pic 5) on the body due possibly to the ash flake, the 8 lobbed qingbai ewer is in very good condition...

An attractive white brass water pipe complete with all its parts (cleaning tools and original chain). Two surfaces of the square-shaped body have etched artwork of women reading in a garden surrounded by foliage. The remaining 2 surfaces have an etched poem about the scene. The calligraphy is particularly beautiful.

Condition: Very good. A complete set with all its original parts.

Longquan porcelain covered with green celadon glaze. Glazed Base. Southern Song 南宋 (1127–1279). Measurement : Diameter: 22 cm. Condition : firing fault on the center, no chips, cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.
