One decent painted jar was well molded in a grand look. By the straw glazed slip on the surface, the well maneuvered sketching motifs- the vibrant peony flowers and spread leaves were vividly rendered in a regular form around the straight wall.
From the freehand but strictly applied brushwork on the surface and the beige body clay revealed at the foot ring, the beautiful ware was authenticated as a piece from Cizhou kilns for sure -but a restricted one...
