It is beautifully potted in an ovid form with incised foliate ground in a transparent icy green glaze, with the rounded side tapering to a short foot.

There are no repairs or restorations. There is some minor firing fault, degradation, chips at the mouth (picture 3) and minor losses. Minor scattered oxidise spot and a more a visible one shown on picture 5. Otherwise in good condition.

The measurement of the yingqing ewer : Height 19cm and the width is 13.3cm.

A superb elephant shaped incense burner by Miyanaga Tozan enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Seiji Zo Koro. Extreme clarity in the fine details, I will let the photos speak for themselves. It is 6 x 4 x 6 inches (15 x 10 x 15 cm) and in excellent condition. It comes with a pamphlet dated Showa 16 (1941) the last year of the artists life.

An exquisitely formed sometsuke porcelain by important Seto porcelain artist Kawamoto Rekitei (1894-1975) with raised patterns of grapes forming on the vine. The delicate shades of the steadily browning grape leaves is easily conveyed by the masters touch, each leaf carefully bordered in a raised border, the dark grapes slowly growing plump in the shadows. A kyusu teapot with attrative, unctuous rust-orange highlighted opaque off-white Shino glaze. Two character artist's signature incised to the pottery body within a reserve in the glaze. Good condition save a miniscule flea bite to the flaze on the tip of the spout. Pot diameter about 5 1/4 inches. Cover diameter about 3 1/2 inches. Length including handle about 7 3/4 inches. Height to cover handle about 4 inches. 20th century.

A late Ming dynasty 16th century b/w dish, the center decorated with two deer in a landscape, the sides with ducks swimming among water-weeds. The exterior with bird on tree. Condition is perfect. Diameter: 20.5cm.

A fine b/w small bowl, with thinly and well potted, decorated to the outer wall cavetto with a white on blue crane among lotus pond. Ming dynasty 16th-17th century. Condition is perfect excepted minor fritting to rim, no crack, no any chip and no restoration as well. Diameter approximately 11 cm.

There is incredible detail in all aspects of this huge bronze sculpture of a jacketed monkey and his elder handler resting on a bronze base signed Shojun (also read Katsunori), dating from the mid 20th century (1935-1965). Taking a break between performances, the aged man pulls out his pipe and tobacco pouch, his wizened countenance seeming as if speaking some soothing words to the creature, perhaps otsukare-sama. A chain runs from his wrist to a collar around the animals neck...

Description: A soapstone Guanyin of Qing Dynasty was finely rendered. In a seating posture, the holy deity was holding a scroll in her left hand. On her right lap, a string of rosary was hanging from her right hand. By characteristically carved almond-shaped eyes, the facial features and the reserved pigment, the figure was dated as from 18th century. Height: 12.4cm, Condition: An old restoration was in the neck when an crack line-like stone tissue was subtly revealed across the body...

Water tumbles from steep dark hills into a roiling sea of clouds on this painting by Japanese artist Fukuda Kodojin (1865-1944) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The erratic brushwork and radical form of this scroll typify work by the unusual self taught Nanga artist. Three tiny huts cluster on the edge of dark forest, a few paddies scratched from the rugged earth, their seeming insignificance a testament to the artists great love of nature...

What a pleasure it would be to drink from this haunting 17th century (Momoyama to early Edo) Karatsu Guinomi Sake cup with gold lacquer repairs. It is 2-1/2 inches (6.5 cm) dimeter, 1-3/4 inches (4.5 cm) tall. There are 2 tiny gold repairs gleaming softly on the rim like a yellow moon peering through clouds on a dark night. .

Description:

A Houtien jade pendant was in open work of motifs of parrot perching on bamboo branches.
By fine excavation condition, the item was preserved very good except with one short hair line not penetrating to another side.
It was caused in burial not from human mistakes.

A large Amber glass Mizusashi enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Mizu Utsuwa by Japans top-rated female glass artists, Iwata Itoko. It has a black lacquered wooden lid typical of mizusashi, but a tremendous convoluted form in rich amber which defies simple description. This is a current Nishijin textile, a very pricey item in Japan. This is an authentic one, it is woven thick like an obi sash. I have two hangings listed here. This is the larger one.
