A lovely small Qingbai cup, decorated with molded incised Fungus scrolls to exterior. Yuan dynasty 13th-14th century in perfect condition. Diameter: 7cm.

 

Well potted with tall size and small foot rim, decorated with nice cobalt-blue of two large Dragons chasing pearl among cloud scrolls at exterior. The interior with a pair Dragons and one medallion in the center. Da Ming Jia Jing Nien Zhe six characters mark and of the period. Condition broken into 5 large pieces + 3 nails size small total 8 pieces, after re-glued, these are two tiny chips and one flake chip. Ming dynasty 16th century. Height: 10.6cm and Diameter: 16,5cm.

Description:

A pair of Jianyang hare-furs tea bowls was well mold in fine shape.
In evert mouth rim, the bowls were stand by circular foot rings.
Characteristic of smoothened surface was found at the foot ring where the body clay was revealed. It was caused due to age.
Incursions were also found on the mouth rim.
They were in lovely sizes- very hard to find on the market, but ideally for tea ceremony.

A fine antique Gilt bronze Buddha Thailand 19th century. Fine casting of the Buddha seated in Mara Vijaya (calling the earth to witness) Gilt bronze over lacquer most all original gilding remains in good condition. Top of the head is a stupa-shaped "flame" or called usnisa, symbol of the realization of Nirvana or indicative of supreme knowledge. Measuring approx. 15 inches tall A fine example.

A fine Ban Chiang pottery bowl in very good condition no restorations original polychrome decorations. Measuring approx. 5 inches tall a museum quality piece.

An extremely rare Museum pieces example of blue and white ewer, well balance potted with Bamboo shape handle and original lid with three small phoenixes, the body with vividly painting of a pair Phoenixes flying among Lotus scrolls, the shoulder with lotus petals leaf and three lugs handle. Condition is excellent, only a tiny flake chip to foot rim, no any chip, crack and no any restoration. Ming dynasty 15th century Yongle-Xuande period. Height: 12cm...

Antique Chinese Miao Ethnic Minority wrap belt used home spun yarn, hand dyed and woven. It is over 100 years old. Rare piece. Approx 152 inches long not including fringe and 3 inches. It is in good condition, has obviously been worn (used) and is a bit dirty in some areas. This is a rare piece and looks really good draped back and forth in a clump.

Most probably a part of a belt. Made in the forbidden stitch. L. 70 cm W. 10 cm. Expected age wear. Late Ming, ca. 16th/17th century.

This traditional Han child's silk hat is wonderfully embroidered with floral scenes around the brim, butterflies and birds around the sections of the crown, while tassels accentuate the upturned morterboard. The long draped wind protector section at the back shows fade line...otherwise the hat is in excellant condition.

A large b/w dish, decorated with Kraak style of a pair Dragon to the center. Outside is plain. Ming dynasty 16th-17th century Swatow family or Zangzhou wares. Condition with single hairline crack to exterior, but being Y shape to interior, minor fretting to rim. Diameter: 38cm.

 

 

Korean Silla period, 6th century A.D., glazed Pottery Pedestal bowl with pierced decoration on the pedestal traces of celadon color glaze on the interior measuring approx. 6 inches tall ,or 16cm. A beautiful example in excellent condition it would be a fine addition to any collection.

Chinese mid-Qing dynasty Qianlong period Dehua kiln deep plate decorated in underglaze blue on a bluish-white porcelain ground with the “phoenix flying among peonies” motif. A band of stylized leaves encircles the back rim. An unidentified rectangular underglaze blue mark is on the base. The top of the foot rim is unglazed. 10 3/4” diameter x 2 3/8” high. Late 18th century. The dish is in very good overall condition with no chips or cracks...

A good Longquan celadon Lotus bowl, decorated with lotus petals to exterior and covered overall with bluish green glaze. Southern Song dynasty, found at South Sulawesi. Condition with restored to a nail chip missing, otherwise is good condition with no any crack. Diameter:14.2cm and Height: 6.5cm.

A fine, Japanese lotus form negoro lacquer kobako (small box.) Kobako are typically associated with incense but this box could serve as a natsume (tea caddy) though with a comparatively loose fitting lid. The lotus form bowl with typical negoro rubbing of the iron red lacquer to surface to reveal some of the black lacquer beneath. The interior a rich, deep red color...

Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Morning Rain at Lake Hakone" by Tsuchiya Koitsu (1870-1949) dated in the right margin "11th month of Showa 13" (1938). The black ink signature and red seal of the artist are at the lower right corner of the image. The title and date are printed in the lower right margin. The seals of the publisher Doi Hangaten, printer Yokoi, and carver Harada are in the left margin...

The fabric of this Japanese kimono is made from the very finely spun bast fibers processed from the banana like tree common on Okinawa. The delicate kasuri pattern which was woven into the fabric is typical of garments from the region. Bashofu cloth of varying quality was used for many garments which were worn by all classes in Okinawa since the sixteenth century.

Cranes flock to the shore, greeted by their compatriots grazing among dry winter grasses on the wave lapped beach of this anonymous pair of Mid Edo period six panel screens. Performed with Ink and pigment on paper with scattered gold flake in a blue silk border with kuwa (mulberry) wood frame and sturdy blue cloth backing. Fully remounted, each screen is 65 x 142 inches (165 x 361 cm). A quintessential Kano style Edo period scene.

A Momoyama-early Edo period gold screen depicting a happy god of fortune drinking while being pulled by deer in his elaborate wagon through a rocky landscape. The paper is wrinkled and creased with age, and the color worn, exuding a great sense of antiquity. The bold patterns and rich texture of the Edo period brocade border amplifies that feeling. The screen is 22-1/2 x 56 inches (57 x 142 cm) and has a shaped lacquered wood frame retaining antique paper backing with some repairs.

Fine and rare Yuan Blue white jar with floral spray decoration, beadline and two lugs. Yuan Dynasty. H = 8.2 cm. Condition : one small chip and 2 firing fault on the mouth rim, no cracks or hairlines and free from restoration.

A dish of raised barbed lotus form with a moulded ribbed cavetto decorated in underglaze blue with gilt outlined enamels dating to circa 1740-70. The unusual form of the dish follows Chinese “Ko Sometsuke” precedents of the first half of the 17th century; see “The Peony Pavillion” lot 220 for a Chinese example of the Chongzhen period. The centre of the dish divided into four semi-ogee reserves creating a cruciform motif with a squarish shaped central reserve...

Shallow form bowl with curved side flaring to lipped rim, carved to the center with a bird bearing a flower spring in its beak, encircled by a foliate scroll border with combed detail, covered overall in a crackled pale olive-green glaze, the foot rim and base unglazed. Diameter : 28 cm Period : Northern Song Condition : small chip to the backside rim, no cracks or hairlines and free from restorations.

Fine annamese vietnamese blue and white charger, decorated with floral motif surrounded by clasic petal border on the center, peony spray and water weeds on the cavetto, classic scroll around rim. On the exterior, petal lappets enclose hanging scrolls. Unglazed base with thin iron brown wash. PERIODE : 15 th Century CONDITION : small frit on the foot and scracth glase on the center, no chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations. MEASURE : 38 cm diameter. 9 cm height.

Children gathering Sansai mountain vegetables, a stunning Taisho period silk painting by Nishikubo Kunko. Three young girls wear indigo dyed country kimono, their forearms and shins protected from the grass and brush and heads covered in white scarves, straw sandals on their feet. They carry voluminous bamboo baskets as they move along the reed covered water’s edge, perhaps in search of fuki (Butterbur). The scene is performed with heavy pigment on silk, in completely original condition...

A brass bowl of rounded form with engraved decoration and beautiful patina. Between two bands of interlace decorated with quatrefoils, arabesques and calligraphic inscriptions. Base with islamic numerals. Condition: some wear, little dents, a small crack. Dimension: diameter: 24 cm, 12.2 cm high, weight: 1145 g.

Description:

A Junyao cup was in bluish glaze and was decorated in the cavetto with purplish red splash.
It was in perfect condition with fine crackles revealed in the glaze.
Beige-tinted body clay was revealed at the foot ring where old feel condition was caused by incursions.
