This large powder horn would have been used by a Yi ethnic minority hunter in the hills of China's Sichuan Province. It was carved and shaped from 2 pieces of wood joined together. The surface was then decorated with traditional patterns using lacquer paint. The attached rings provided an attachment for a shoulder strap (missing) and the access hole has a bamboo stopper.

A fine small jar, decorated with lobed form and covered overall with green glazed, base unglazed. Vietnam 14th-15th century. Condition is perfect. High: 5.5 cm.

A bottle vase in small Meiping form, with main decoration to the body with waves scroll, unglazed white clay base. Song-Yuan dynasty 12th-13th century Jizhou ware. Condition is perfect excepted a tiny hole to the base and minor enamel loss. High: 19cm.

A fine antique Japanese Ivory Netsuke of a Buddha and a Shishi or Foo lion by his side. Meiji era circa 1890 in very nice condition some wear and a very nice patina. Measuring 4 centimeters or 1 3/4 inches tall. A very fine example.

From the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands, this alafolo, or war club, is in very fine condition, with a rich dark patina. Measuring just under 40", it still retains much of the kaolin inlay and shows surface irregularities from the hand work. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. In addition to the geometric design on the "faces", there are linear designs below the noses and at the base...

Known primarily for ginbari or basse-taille works, Hayakawa Komejiro perfected this technique, creating very fine vases, often in the deep red Pigeons Blood color. The translucent red enamel covers the detailed silver design, of bamboo leaves and stalks over a stippled background. The vase measures 3 1/2" high by 3" wide, with a foot of 1 1/2" in diameteter. It is signed on the base...

Description:
A Zitan wood brushpot was nicely carved to imitate the original wood trunk.
Carved from one block of Zitan wood, the brushpot was very heavy and was meticulously rendered on the surface with the natural tree bark.
An inscription of Jing-Wei was found at the lower portion of the brushpot.
It was probably from the carver’s name.

Date:Late Qing periods, late 19th century.

Condition: Perfect.

A Longquan celadon dish, decorated in the center with twin fish and covered overall with golden celadon glaze. Condition : achips to the foot rim. Diameter: 12.5 cm.

This is a nice small sancai glazed tazza cup from the Tang dynasty ((618 – 906 A.D.). The tazza is decorated with small round spots of flower like pattern with three cream spots and a brown dash in the centre. The background is glazed in green colour. The glaze on the outside of the tazza flows just below the cup, exposing the buff colour of the stem and the spread out foot.

There is no repair or restoration, crack, chip or glaze fritting. Some abrasions can be expected...

A Longquan celadon dish, decorated in the center with an impressively of twin fish dish and covered overall with beautiful bluish green glaze. PERIOD : Yuan Dynasty (1279-1368 AD) MEASUREMENTS:12 cm wide. CONDITION: restoration to the chips on the rim , fine hairline.

Porcelain decorated with floral spray in the center. Iron brown wash covers base with petal lappets with hanging floral scroll on the exterior. Diameter = 17 cm. Periode : 15th- 16th Century Condition : two hairlines to the rim and small chips to the foot ring and free from restoration.

Description: A terracotta amulet or Tsa-Tsa of Tibet was preserved well in a fine condition. By a mold image of Shakyamuni Buddha who in the earth-witness gesture on the front, gold pigment was applied including the drapery throne when faded red and darken purplish pigment were left to the background. Clear reticulate grains were on the back side. Date: 18th century, Tibet. Height: 8.2cm, Depth: 1.6cm(base).

Finely potted porcelain bowl, painted in pale famille rose enamels with fruiting and flowering gourd vines. The outside decorated with four "dragon and phoenix" medallions on a yellow ground. Base with iron red six character "Guangxu" mark. Condition: foot rim with an over glazed tiny chip (see photo no. 3), some wear to gilding. Dimension: Diameter: 13.8 cm, 5.9 cm high.

Porcelain covered by celadon green glaze, decorated with carved single fisnh and wave; glaze base. PERIOD : Song Dynasty (960–1279 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 12,5 cm wide, 5 cm tall. CONDITION: Excellent, a very tiny fritting to the rim, no cracks, no hairlines and free from restoration. Different color in some ares.

A blue & white Yuhuchun from shipwreck, decorated with floral around the body. Late Ming dynasty 17th century. Condition Excellent no chips, hairlines, cracks and or restoration. Height: 14 cm, Width = 11 cm

This is a finely potted 8 lobed qingbai ewer from the Yuan dynasty. It stand on a flatten base with a sunken centre. On the base, there are also 4 iron brown spur mark. The good quality glaze with a tinge of bluish hue suggest that it could be from the Hutian kiln, the most famous kiln complex in the Jingdezhan area.

With the exception of some abrasion and a black spot (pic 5) on the body due possibly to the ash flake, the 8 lobbed qingbai ewer is in very good condition...

A tinned copper tea pot with etched decoration of birds among tendrils, Persian or Central Asian. The lid with brass knob. Condition: tin plating worn, some tiny dents. Dimension: 16.5 cm high, 22 cm long.

A small Song Junyao vase with a grayish-blue and purple glaze with an splash to body. The base is unglazed and is burnt reddish in the firing. PERIOD : Northern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) MEASUREMENTS: 11 cm tall. CONDITION: excellent, no chips, cracks, or hairlines and free from restorations.

Green glazed to square cut foot rim, exposing grey body burnt red. Decorated with ferruginous brown spots in triplicate. H= 8.5 cm W=11 cm Period : 14th century, Longquan Kilns, Zhejiang Condition : jar has one firing fault on the rim, the lid has chips and was restored.

Flattened and foliated rim dish decorated with duck in the scene and floral on the rim. Floral sprays and emblems on the exterior. Glazed base. Width = 20 cm Ming Dynasty late 16th century. Condition : two hairlines (1.5 cm), firing crack, free from restoration. Thin porcelain with good sound if tapping with finger.

This is a small yaozhou celadon bowl in the shape of a compressed globular body divided into 12 lobes vertically. It stands on a short foot rim with a recessed based all glazed in olive green colour all the way from the foot rim to the mildy everted mouth rim and to the inside of the bowl.

Some abrasion to the mouth rim of the bowl, uneven glazing and minute snad grits adhesion to the recess base of the footrim as shown in the photographs...

Six different imperial officials hat buttons for the ji guan (festive hat), a hat worn as a part of the ji fu, the less formal style of Qing court costume. Made of Peking glass and gilt metal imitating jewels, mounted in bronze. Coral colored denoting the first rank - coral colored with engraved "shou" character for the second rank - transparent and opaque blue representing the third respectively the fourth rank - opaque white for the sixth rank - plain gilt metal denoting the seventh rank...

A blue & white dish, the interior decorated with variety of fishes among lotus and weeds, the walls of exterior with three friends of winter. Ming dynasty late 16th to early 17th century. Condition restored to two re-stuck area at the rim. Diameter: 30 cm.

Swatow dish decorated with flower on the center and a roughly drawn continous scroll on the capetto . Late Ming 16th Century. Diameter : 22.5 cm Condition : Excellent condition without damage or restoration

Yuan blue and white cup decorated by chrysanthemum scroll motif, unglazed base. Wide = 8 cm Height = 4.3 cm Yuan dynasty 14th century. Condition : broken but no missing part.

Of buff ware, decorated in cream slip with painted designs in black and red, this aryballos, or perfume/oil vessel, measures 3 1/8" high, and is roughly the same diameter. The paint decoration is worn, and appears to represent a bird figure, with additional geometric designs over the body and top. Aryballoi of this size and form were utilized for perfume or other precious oils, and date to the 6th century BC...

An Edo Period Kozuka (utility knife handle.) Kinko (mixed soft metals) decoration on shakudo alloy with nanako (fish roe textured) background. Depicted in a farmer with horse in water plowing in prepartion to plant rice. A willow or other weeping tree, to one side, not yet with blooms. Nicely detailed with featured highlighted with gold and silver overlay. The water nicely textures with an itame (wood grain) effect. Serviceable, fair to good condition...

Cup with everted flat lip and a short raised foot. Decorated in underglaze cobalt - blue on the rim with a key - fret design and a continuous chrysanthemum scroll on the exterior. Porcelain body with a transparent glaze. Base recessed and unglazed. D : 8 cm. Jingdezhen or Fujian. Yuan Dynasty fourteenth century. Condition : Very good, no hairline, cracks, chips or restorations

Beautiful carving in the Balinese Art Deco style made of heavy tropical wood. Bearded man traditionally dressed with kris on his back, holding and feeding his gamecock. Condition: filled crack going through one foot and base. Dimension: 52.7 cm high, weight: 3'045 g.

Dish with flat rim decorated with a medallion of flower surounded by scrollworks. Five medallions of flowers alternating with cloud designs on the outside. Glaze base. Diamter = 31.5 cm Zhengde Condition : star hairline, firing cracks, but free from restorations.

Decorated with floral spray, green glazed on the exterior, unglazed base. Diamter = 31 cm Ming Dynasty or earlier. Condition : one small chip on the foot rim.

 

From Yunnan Province, this minority hand woven open container has wonderful age and patina. The wife said it was used at family dinners for pouring wine, the husband said used for pouring tea. I just smiled and nodded in agreement. The piece was obviously woven tight enough to contain liquid. There is a small piece of bamboo inserted into the basket spout which aids in controlling the flow. Condition is very good and the piece measures 8" x 5" high.

PERIOD : Middle Ming (1488-1566) MEASUREMENTS: 11 cm wide, 8.5 cm Height. CONDITION: cracks and frittings; free from restorations.

Crackle porcelain decorated with Vajra on the center, glazed base. PERIOD : Early Ming (1400-1487 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 19 cm wide. CONDITION: small chips to the rim (reglued).

Crackle porcelain vase decorated with chilongs and floral sprays on the body and lotus petals on the neck. Glazed base. Ming Dynasty, late 16th Century. Height = 21.5 cm Condition : part of the top is missing and repairing, other is very good condition.

Crackle porceain decorated with polychrome flower on the center, the cavetto divided into 4 panels and decorated alternately with floral sprays and trelis pattern, unglazed base. PERIOD : late Ming (1566-1643 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 29 cm wide. CONDITION: very good, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations.

Thinly and well balance potted, decorated to outside with pine, prunus and bamboo tree, such called as Three Friends of Winter. Ming dynasty 16th century Jiajing ware. Condition with a tiny chip and slight long crack visible on enlargement 7, otherwise is good condition. Diameter: 9.5cm and High: 6cm.

 

Blue and White jar decorated with two kind of eight precious things : the mirror (zhing) to counteracts evil and lozenge as a symbol of victory, lotus interlocking, lotus petal scroll to the foot and prêt patern on the shoulder ; . Kangxi 1662-1772. Height = 12.5 cm, Width= 11.5 cm. Condition : perfect, no hairlines, cracks, chips or restoration.
