This a beautiful armadillo necklace designed by Valentin Vidaurreta and produced by Manuel Altamirano. It was also produced by Hector Aguilar. The necklace is 16 1/2" end to end and 1 1/2" wide at the center rounded square. Circa 1945-50, it is in fine original condition. The black velvet appears to be original to the piece. Signed as shown. Altimirano also worked for Hector Aguilar at the Taller Borda. His pieces with his own hallmark are scarce and this necklace is exquisite.

Lovely vintage sterling mid-century modern biomorphic pin. Circa 1955. Not marked but tests positive for sterling silver. With a cabochon cut and bezel set genuine moonstone.

A Japanese lacquered agiro pipe case (kiseruzutsu) finely decorated with a cockerel and hen, signed Shinsen (?). The pouch is tooled leather with iron and silver cockerel and hen inlaid with a gold clasp. The ojime is shaped as Daikoku's mallet in unknown material. Description: One small Jianyang Temmoko bowl was authenticated by all the typical characteristics - the iron grayish body, the typical straight foot rim, the deposits in the pinpoint holes on the body , dry-feel mouth rim, crackled glaze and the foggy water scar left on the glaze. The bottom of the foot ring was uniquely shaped as a flat form. It was a lovely piece with a genuine look from first sight...

A bold hand hammered sterling bracelet by Israeli Modernist Rachael Gera. Her work is always large and spectacular and this bracelet is no exception. It measures 6" around in the inside with a 1 1/4" opening (with some flexibility either way)and is 2 1/8" wide. It is in fine original condition and signed R. Gera. A fascinating piece.

Transparent cobalt blue glass bowl, 18th / 19th C. Rounded sides and slightly flaring rim, the exterior carved and incised in relief with peonys, bird and taihu rock. The reign mark Qianlong nian zhi is incised in standard script within a bold square on the base. Condition: fine. Dimensions: 16,2 cm diameter x 7,3 cm high. Weight: 538 gram.

A fabulous bracelet of tall concave links by Antonio Pineda. I offered a similar bracelet at item # 575137, however , this is not the same bracelets as the dimensions of the links are different. This bracelet is 1" wide and measures 7" around in the inside. Fine original condition with safety chain. Antonio pieces are disappearing off the face of the earth.

SOLD 2006. In a USA studio, this 26" strand with 7mm Bronze Praline Chocolate Pearls was hand knotted, then finished with pre fab 18K GOLD S hook and earrings to match. Light smoky topaz Swarovski beads were used to add a little sparkle to the necklace, while light brown real Sapphires were added to the earrings! This set was acquired by Pam, a long time client of MIMI DEE ARTWEAR. It included a presentation box sporting a large tan cultured pearl and Swarovski crystals.

This is a bee hive shaped waterpot. It is sometimes referred to taibo zun or qizhao zun(chicken coop) in Chinese because of the shape. The domed shaped body has a countersunk base, with three incised roundel of scrolling kui dragons just about visible just beneath the beach bloom glaze accented with splashes of pink and a minute sprinkle apple or lime green...

A young mother breast feeds her child. She is sitting and looking dearly at her baby. The small figure is masterly carved in light hardwood. Signed on the underside of the plinth MD. RUNDA. -- In the 1930's mainly the European artists Rudolf Bonnet and Walter Spies animated the Balinese carvers and painters to create modern non functional artwork. -- Condition: fine, some brighter parts due to age. Dimensions: 15 cm high x 13,5 cm long x 7 cm wide.

Large wood display stand carved to imitate a natural root with a flat upper surface. Root furniture was much favored by the Chinese literati. Measuring 13 inches long x 6 inches wide, this untouched, all-original, double-sided heavy metal sign is an extraordinarily RARE piece of Black American history-- an artifact of the "Jim Crow" era when segregation of the African American race was unfortunately, most commonplace.

Absolutely spectacular and rare Margot De Taxco bracelet with 9 cherub charms. Some are playing musical instruments and others are in some form of whimsy. There is great detail and definition to the charms. The bracelet measures 7 1/2" end to end and itself is 1/4" wide. With the charms, it is 2" wide. The bracelet and charms are all original and in fine condition. One of the charms is hallmarked as shown, however it is clear that all charms and the bracelet are original and all Margot De Taxco...

Colorful! A fun set by Miriam Haskell. Designed in the 1970's to celebrate the Egyptian show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Gilt metal and glass beads. The necklace is signed on the scarab pendant, the clasp and on a metal tag. The clasp also has the patent number. The screwback/clip earrings have two Haskell signatures and the patent number. The necklace is 20" end to end. The scarab pendant is 2 1/2" long and 2" wide. The pharaoh earrings are 7/8" by 5/8".

Horn bullet container from the Batak people, Sumatra, Indonesia. With stylized face and delicate ornamental carving. Containing two lead bullets. Fringe on top of its head and attached leather strap. Condition: One stress line (marked on pic) and one scratch, slight wear. Very nice patina. Dimensions: 20 cm long.

A very unusual huanghuali scholar's container made of one solid piece of wood. There is no plug at the base. These types of designs are very desirable for collectors of huanghuali pieces.
