A very traditional pair of diamond earrings in buttercup settings with European lever backs. The earrings are set with two fine quality full cut diamonds with the approximate total weight of 0.40 Ct. The ear wires are marked with old Hungarian hallmarks.

A dynamically painted blue and white vase decorated in Kangxi style with seven fish, a shrimp and a crab against a background of stylized waves. This item was made for export in the Jingdezhen kilns, Jiangxi province during the reign of the Guangxu emperor (1875-1908). Description: A bronze brush rest in a shape of a stag resting under a tree and a bird perching on the branches with scholar rock's view. It is an elegant piece with traditional Chinese atmosphere. Massive Chinese late Qing to Republic period hardwood scroll pot of naturally irregular tree trunk form carved from a single piece of wood with five nearly hidden bats along the sides. Hollow interior and flat bottom with separate plug. Late 19th to early 20th century. 19 3/8" high x about 9 3/4” diameter; 16 lbs. Very good overall condition with typical wear from age and use. This beautifully hand forged pin was designed by Mexico City artist Matilde Poulat c. 1930-40's. The pin measures 2" X 2" & weighs 20 grams. Penny Morrill explains on p. 217 of her book MEXICAN SILVER that the horizontal "S" is the symbol of happiness & the cascabeles signify fidelity. The pin is in excellent, unpolished condition.
