This is a very unique and beautiful Gin (silver) Kanzashi from Meiji Period (1868-1912). It has Samurai's Kabuto helmet and the plum blossoms resting on an open fan which moves to adjust the angle as the bells on the chains jingles. You can only imagine what the occasion was for. The first four photos were taken after it was polished, the rest were taken before. It truely looks beautiful now 5-6 months after being polished...

This fun little pin is either gold filled or has a gold wash. Measuring 1/2” x 3/16”, there are Fleur de lys at each end and an oval in the middle with “BEBE,” surrounded by black enamel. An exquisite sake cup from the Asakiri kiln of Akashi decorated with a verse and spray of bamboo enclosed in a period wooden box signed by Yamada Takeshi (descendant of Yamada Kikutaro, Edo period founder of the kiln). It is 5 cm (2 inches) diameter and in excellent condition, likely dating from the Meiji period.

Here is a pretty woman’s face in profile. Her long golden hair trails down to end with a tiny baroque or freshwater pearl. Total length of the face, hair and pearl a little less than 3/4”. This design was based on a drawing by Charles Dana Gibson – a Gibson Girl! (See the final photograph.) It is marked 14k, weighs 1.2g, and is in excellent condition. It doesn’t have a maker’s mark, but we have seen this same stick pin with Alling’s mark. Circa 1910...

Fob made with Carved Ivory Chain and a Mellowed Rose on each end. The Swivel reads: KEENE 12K 1/20 for goldfilled and shows brass and rose gold in areas. 4 3/4" total, while the larger detailed rose is 1 X 1". Would look just marvey on a nice chain.

A stunning fire patinated bronze vase. The mottled verdigris background in contrast with copper red patinated areas of resist in leaf patterns complete with veining to the leaves and texture to the sustaining twigs. An extremely old mask said to come from Darchula district in the far West Nepal however this mask shares striking similarities with masks from Himachal Praddesh. The encrusted black patina and the thickness of the carving seems however uncommonly observed in Himachal masks H 34 cm presented on an iron stand.

Here is a sweet little pansy pendant! Pansies have been equated with thoughtfulness, free thinking, and deep contemplation. Shakespeare’s Ophelia said "There's pansies, that's for thoughts." This little pansy is made from (tested) 10k gold, with a modern-looking 14k bale, probably the result of a later change.
