Chinese Qing dynasty natural root form scholar’s bitong, or brushpot. 7 1/2” high. The base measures about 6” diameter at the longest part. The rim is about 4 5/8” across at the widest part. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition. There is a short crack at the inner rim that extends to the interior of one thin concave area on the exterior. This piece is from the private collection of former American expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.

This child's headpiece was from a very high status, wealthy Chinese family. Basically made of 3 pieces of shaped and intricately carved leather, it was made "adjustable". Heavily decorated with additional carved elements, dragons, beads and pompoms, it still has most of the original gold paint. This is a rare treasure. approx 6" x 3.5"

A unusual rare well carved jade pendant with a stylized head of a Zhou pig on top and tapering down into a fang or a claw.. The upper part of the jade is of a black and tan color and the tail is translucent. There is a hole at the back of the mouth for stringing. Size: L. 4.7cm. W. 1.2cm. Condition: See last photo.

Description: A tripod bronze censer was in archaic Ding-type. Preserved rarely with original bronze water chestnut shaped stand and bronze reticulated and simplified Baosan typed cover, the censer was reserved with darkened patina. It was a small and elegant bronze censer which was used by accompanying with the ancient Chinese instrument Qin when it was playing. The bronze censer was therefor called as Qin censer...

Description: A wood panel was carved with a house, a plum tree, and an elephant. An odd combination when an elephant was described in Chinese garden. "Good sign(elephant) stays in my house" -a greeting words meant a lot to Chinese people. The panel or the architecture sculpture had always been bestowed with the best wishes like this. A finely decorated enamelled porcelain figure of a lady made in China, probably for export, during the second half of the 19th century - circa 1850 to 1900. Condition very good - two leaves are missing from the flower but no other damages and no restoration...

Description:
A cinnabar lacquered tray was preserved finely in good condition.
In rectangular shape yet by intriguingly curved sides, the dish was concaved inside and was with grandeur design of beautiful scenery in the center.
On the border, There was decoration of vibrant flowers, fruits, branches and leaves around.
Supported by Ru-Yi shaped feet, the dish was painted underside with black lacquer.
By original condition, there’re some fret found on the ridges of the motifs...

Description: A jade bangle was beautifully carved on the surface with motif of a swirling dragon. In celadon-white tint, the jade piece was in greasy-feel quality while some incursions had been caused into the hardstone.May not being as a pure white piece, the jade bracelet still owned an old atmosphere in the sheen of the retrospective reflection. " Zun Yo Xuon Tan" means eloquent talking will be amid the seats.
With simple words, it showed the enthusiastic inviting of a family host.
This kind of Bian was most likely having been put in a scholar chamber.
It is really hard to find a real scholar Bian like this. Most of them we found were for business using.

A rare huanghuali clapper with three beautiful pieces of huanghuali. The two outer clappers are rounded at the tops while the center piece is flat on both sides.The sound of the wooden clappers sets the rhythm of the music as well as some of the actions of the performers. Description: A nephrite Houtien jade carving was very well rendered as two monkeys. By a good-wished metaphor of Being High Ranking Officials Generations after Generations, the monkey mother was holding hands with baby monkey face to face. In a celadon tint, the jade piece was done by traditional craftsmanship. It is a very good example for Chinese jade carving for the characteristics of jade carving skills and jade material. Chinese Qing dynasty Kangxi marked monochrome beehive form waterpot (taibo zun) subtly incised with three kui dragon roundels on the domed body. The sky blue glaze thins to white at the rim.
