An elegant Zitan tray was railed in open work on the sides.
By beautiful design and well-maneuvered carvings, this scholar tray was presented in a decent look.
It was in firm and sound structure. Minute and old crack was at the bottom board.

She has a very adult looking face and extremely ornate hair dress. The kimono is of silk with a shibori obi. This doll likely dates to the 1960s or early 1970s. Matilde Eugenia Poulat introduced her designs under the signature "Matl" in 1934. She died in 1960. This is an early and original "Matl" ring,designed and hand made by Matilde Poulat, not to be confused with the Matl style jewelry still being produced by her nephew Richard Salas. This sculpture of an African American man is beautifully sculpted, in a style reminiscent of early 20th century artists who were inspired by the stylized forms of African traditional art.
