Well carved in cedar, this Northwest Coast box measures 4 3/4" high x 4 3/8" wide and deep. In the tradition of Haida, Salish, Tsimshian, and other First Nation tribes of the Northwest Coast, the box is kerfed and hand carved with deep traditional designs that are abstracted and stylized. The cedar has a lovely sheen, also typical of the wood as it ages. It is signed in pencil on the bottom, the name Wilson visible, with a name or initial above that is not clear...

Description: A Yinquing ewer or water dropper was kept with its original cap. Produced from Jindezheng of Jiangxi province, it was an exquisite Qingbai(bluish white) porcelain manufactured in one of the Hutien kilns. On the surface, when motifs of flowers were framed with 16 different sectors, subtle pinhead incursions were randomly spread in the bluish glaze. It happened to the surface of the cap too. Characteristic chalk-feel body clay was revealed at the bottom...

These earring are marked with one of Matilde Poulats oldest hallmarks. Trying to find these now is getting more difficult all the time. They are 1.5in. long and 1in. wide. They have been converted to post but the hallmark was not disturbed.

Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992) titled “Goro in the Rain” (“Ame no Goro”) dated 1980. This boldly colorful kabuki theater image features an actor portraying Soga Goro, one of two historic samurai brothers who avenge the death of their father. In this image, Soga Goro is dressed in fine clothing and holds an umbrella though no rain is evident. He is apparently travelling to the pleasure quarter to visit a courtesan...

Spectacular & rare this vintage 940 sterling silver chrysocolla bracelet was designed & signed c. 1940's by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-86). One of Aguilar's best designs the bracelet measures 1 1/4" wide at the front tapering to 1" w. at the back. Interior circumference is 6 3/4" when bracelet is closed. 81 grams, 2.09 oz. Each of the 9 stones are bezel set and framed by twisted silver columns tipped with silver balls. All stones are in beautiful condition with no chips or cracks...
