Description: A Temmoko bowl from Jianyang kiln of Song Dynasty was excavated rarely with metal wrappings around the mouth rim. Fragile of the wrappings, the bowl was in beautiful hare’s-fur glaze. The bowl was molded in regular shape and was typical in the size of general Jianyang bowls. Classic Jian ware has a coarse, slate gray to black body that usually fires purplish brown where exposed, but in some cases fire medium to dark gray, as it has in this example...

Here is a Victorian gold-in-quartz (also called “gold quartz” and “gold-bearing quartz”) brooch. Gold-in-quartz is rare and becoming more so. It’s our understanding that it is now found in very few places in the world – possibly only one mine in California. The 14kt yellow gold setting has twisted gold on top of a carved gold oval. Measuring 9 inches high, this delightful example of Folk Art styling, is one of a series of Black cloth character dolls made in Alabama in the 1930’s by unknown craftsmen/women. It has been speculated that their creation was encouraged through FDR’s Depression era program, the Work Projects Administration (WPA), in existence from 1936-1940.

Beautiful sterling and garnet cuff links by New York studio artist Sam Kramer (1913-1964), who is considered the most significant postwar American Modernist jeweler. Suitable for a man or woman, these cuff links measure 1" by 1/2" and are in fine original condition. They weigh 26 grams total and are signed with the mushroom in a circle with rabbit ears, which is Kramer's hallmark, and sterling. Great looking cuff links from the father if Modernism.

Chinese Qing dynasty Qianlong period ribbed guglet vase decorated in fencai famille rose enamels with birds among flowering fruit trees, rockery, and bamboo all set against a white porcelain ground. 18th century. 10 1/4” high. Very good overall condition. The vase is slightly misshapen. There are burst bubbles in the glaze at the rim and scattered throughout that are consistent with production at that time...

A beautifully red glazed porcelain brush pot with dragons’ motif. There are three dragons motif on the brush pot, flying between the heaven and the sea. There are two smaller dragons facing each other, chasing after the “Pear of Fire”. Another larger dragon has it face looking forward in the usual imperial grandeur. It seems to appear that the red glaze is probably to simulate the red cinnabar colour...

A 14k Edwardian onyx and seed pearls ring circa 1910-20. This size 2-1/4 beauty features an oval black onyx stone with an inserted gold-collared seed pearl. It is bezel set and it has two groups of three seed pearls at the top and bottom in the marquise shaped 7/8 x 1/4" setting. This ring weighs 2.8 grams, it is marked 14K with a circled JS maker's mark and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs.
