A rare and lovely miniature b/w jar, decorated to the body with three friends of winter, these are the pine, bamboo and prunus. Ming dynasty 15th century excavated on South Sulawesi. Generally speaking this kind of Ming b/w small jar specimen is more rare to found than the others such like Yuan or late-middle Ming type. This very rare, possibly unique, pottery jar was made between the 10th and 13th centuries, during the Five Dynasties period (AD 906 - 960), Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or possibly the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368) and has been excavated from a Buddhist site in Yunnan province. 

It is one of the most unusual Yunnan jars that we have seen. The design represents either lotus leaves or a lotus blossom...

This is a fine, beautiful and brightly coloured example of a small “Jun” ware bowl which was treated as a “manufacturing defect”. The bowl is well glazed in a bright lavender colour with pooling of a bright blue sky glaze at the base of the bowl. It would have been a fine piece if not for an overglazed which has resulted in an overflow of a big pool of the glaze down to the sagger. When it cooled down, the glaze glued the base of the bowl to the sagger...

Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Qingbai Porcelain Jar / Rice Measure

This small jar was made during the 13th - 14th century, during the latter part of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279), or possibly the following Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Its form is often referred to as a "rice measure". It has moulded decoration around the shoulder and is coated in a finely-crackled blueish-green qingbai glaze save for the rim and base that remain unglazed.

Description:

A russet-glazed Yuhuchun vase was well mold in decent look.
Fine glaze in retrospective sheen was applied on the surface when greasy-feel body clay was revealed at the bottom in brownish tint.
The vase was preserved in nearly perfect condition when two minute and shallow glaze chips were found under the flaring mouth rim.(see picture 3 )
They were being restored and were not noticeable from usually watching angles.
