A Ming dynasty blue ground and white motif large bowl, rounded side with wide rim and glazed base, bowl decorated with white flower on blue ground motif at exterior, inner wall with under glaze blue continuous flower motif, center with blue ground white flower spray motif.

These are worn with kimono and obi under Uchikake gown for the traditional Japanese wedding ceremony. There is a small area on the tissue holder and tanto bag with some power like stains. It is in new condition other than that. Great accent pieces for your home; two obi-jime (fat strings) can be used to tie the curtains, or use them with obis to create a wall décor. A very rare Song stone carved mirror holder in the shape of a mythical ox called n Xiniu. The ox has his head turned upward and is looking at the moon which is represented by the bronze mirror above and the stone carvings represent the clouds. One of the Los Castillo workshop earlier creations as is indicated by its low design number the “koi fish” bracelet dates from the years when Margot de Taxco was still married to Antonio Castillo and under the spell of Japanese aesthetics. The bracelet I am presenting here has all the distinctive elements of the motif – the fish swim in and out of undulating waves with air bubbles surrounding them and their tiny scales are carefully rendered en repoussage...

This is an early and very large and beautiful pin by Matilde Poulat. All of the coral and turquoise stones are present and original and the faceted amethyst is a rare touch. This intricate piece measures 3 1/4" wide and 3 1/4" long. Excellent original condition and signed MATL in script. A remarkable example of her early work.

Most probably designed by Salvador Teran when he worked for his cousins, the Los Castillo, this pair of Mexican modernist silver dangle earrings is not an easy set to find. Though the Los Castillo did not experiment as much in modernism as some other Taxco maestros and workshops they do count among their creations some amazing examples thanks to Teran's genius...

There are six different sizes and six different shapes of crystal-clear shimmering rhinestones in this Eisenberg five level brooch. A complex and beautiful design. The rhinestones are prong-set, and the back is rhodium plated. It is stamped Eisenberg in block letters and there are two sets of numbers which are not legible. The brooch is 3" by 1 7/8", and is 1/2" thick.

A great ring for the bride with a passion for all things antique. This is a wonderfully crafted platinum ring dating from the 1920s. It is centered by a 1.86 carat old-mine diamond that has K color and VS1 clarity. The center stone is flanked on either side by three channel-set single-cut diamonds. The approximate total weight of all diamonds is 2 carats.

Chinese late Qing dynasty (19th century) front-opening Han style lady's jacket embroidered on the front and back in silk polychrome thread with clusters of flowering plants and butterflies on a dark cobalt blue silk satin ground. Much of the embroidery is executed with the “forbidden stitch.” The sleeve bands are similarly embroidered with flowers and Buddhist swastikas on a white silk ground. Three round floral metal buttons secure the front opening and silk closures secure the neck...

A very interesting and beautifully made sterling parrot necklace by Tane, the silver manufacturing company in Mexico City whose emphasis is on quality. Rare TALL Chinese Liao Dynasty Stoneware Jar (AD 907 - 1125)

This rare stoneware jar was made during the Liao Dynasty (AD 907 - 1125). It is particularly "heavily-potted" and coated with a thick and uneven olive-green glaze, both inside and out. In places the glaze has not vitrified properly leaving a matt appearance. The mouth has sagged a little to one side during firing. The flat base remains unglazed revealing the pale pinkish-brown body.

Description: An aigrette in stylized standing form was actually carved from a piece of natural root wood. In beautiful style, the aigrette twisted her neck when standing on a rock which was from another natural wood piece. Here is a rare Jizai mantis. It is by an artist named Tomiki Munenobu, one in a line of artists carrying on the Myochin style of metalwork. Teh piece likely dates from somewhere in the later Meiji, 1890-1910. Life-size, it is roughly 3 inches long, the same height and in fine condition. It is as found, not yet cleaned or tampered with.
