In the 1960s and 1970s, Ciner specialized in costume jewelry inspired by the enameled gold and jeweled figural animal designs of the fine jewelry maker David Webb (these days Roberto Cavalli is the contemporary master of the costume version of this look). Luscious heavy coral glass beaded hand knotted 62 inch long necklace, circa 1970. From the estate of a New York socialite; I had several necklaces like this and this is the last one. Spring ring brass clasp. Large 12 mm diameter beads hand knotted with matching coral thread. Color is warmer and pinker than in photos. 62 inches long and the beads are 1/2 inch wide. Beautiful vintage fringed necklace in goldtone metal in heavy twisted circular links, with black glass cabochon stones and matching teardrop shaped black glass beads. With its original hang tag, which is marked BIJOUX FIASCHI, CREAZIONI DI ALTA MODA - FIRENZE - OSCAR 1969. The back of the tag is marked MADE IN ITALY. The firm of Bijoux Fiaschi designed for Emilio Pucci in the 1960s, and won an Italian award called the Oscar del Bijoux, in 1969. This piece is probably 1970s.
