Taxco Mexican brooch or pin by Miguel Melendez. Pre-Columbian motif of a stylized bird’s head surrounded by a circle with azurite inlay. Fully marked, with maker’s mark (small m inside a C), eagle stamp and 3 = after 1948. Security clasp. Diameter "1½/ 3,8 cm. Condition: fine.
Felipe Martinez was a sculptor, then a stone cutter for Hubert Harmon, before he opened his own taller "Piedra Y Plata" in 1950.
This necklace is a spectacular piece with carved and polished onyx in an edgy modernist design. A very rare necklace in collector quality. Stones are flawless.

Dimensional 2-sided squared design with interesting cuts and shapes, the pendant has a cabochon oval onyx stone backed in silver hanging freely. This playful pair of bracelets were designed and handwrought during Hubert Harmon's short time in Taxco, Mexico in the 1940's. Each bracelet measures 7" long and 3/4" wide. The pair weighs 32 grams. Each fish is finely detailed and measures 1 1/2" long. The amethyst cabs are bezel set but not backed allowing light to sparkle though as they move on the wrist. Beautiful condition. Clasps are tight and secure. Both bracelets are hallmarked Sterling, HUBERT HARMON, Made in Mexico.
This Mexican sterling bracelet has a warrior-like feel, with its shield-like openwork panels. The domed centers are set with small black glass cabochons that could be obsidian. The tongue-and-groove clasp is very secure, and the connectors between the panels exhibit are well soldered. The bracelet bears the unidentified mark of VGV (per Bille Hougart’s book), as well as a sterling mark surrounded by a circular Hecho en Mexico. A vintage modernist pair of high quality sterling silver cuff links with Pre Columbian birds by the noted Peruvian silversmith, Graziella Laffi. These cuff links are opposites and face each other when worn.
Signed Peru, G. Laffi and 925 on the backs. The are made up of thick layers of sterling. The finding is made of a curved bar and ends with a toggle.

We have a superb Los Castillo 18in. long necklace to offer today. The links are 1 3/8ths tall making for a striking presence. The stones have no cracks or chips and also have no striations that come to the surface of the amethyst. The color is a beautiful mix of milky swirl and jelly purple. Properly hallmarked as shown with the old linear mark for Los Castillo when Margot Van Voorhies was married to Don Antonio Castillo. Definitely a collectors treasure.

Silver dragon head pin copying that of William Spratling by Serafin Moctezuma, Mexico, c.1950's. Much to the annoyance of Spratling, Moctezuma copied his designs, including the mark "SM", which when turned upside down, looks like a stylized WS, similar to that of Spratling. This great little Mayan dragon head, stands on its own and is quite charming. The pin measures 1 3/8" long by 1" wide. It is signed "980 SM TAXCO" and is in excellent condition...
Fabulous large and fascinating sterling ring by Karram, c.1970's. As you turn the ring it is completely different around.
