An ode to overlay, beading and masterfully applied oxidation, this figural little Mexican Deco brooch is a depiction of Ozomahtli, the monkey companion of god Xochipili, associated with play and merry-making. I could have easily sworn that this is an example of Francisco Rivera’s work yet since it is not signed for maker, I can only suggest this might be the case...

This textured cuff bracelet features a pocked surface and is decorated with applied half-beads of molded silver. The piece is unmarked, but definitively tests as silver, possibly sterling. Its surface exhibits areas of oxidation, and a couple of areas where the texture didn’t take in the molding process. The bracelet measures 1 ½ inches wide, with an interior circumference of just under 7 inches, including the 1 ¼-inch opening between the terminals. Weight: 52.3 grams

A rare, modernist pendant necklace in 830 silver designed by Jorma Laine for Kultateollisuus Ky of Turku Finland.

Has four dangling stylized apples. It measures 2 7/8" long and 1 7/8" at the widest. Original chain measures 23" long and has a secure spring clasp. Pendant is marked 830S for the Finnish silver standard, and Finland. Chain is marked 830S.

A modernist pendant by the noted NYC jeweler, Paul Lobel. This pendant, made of sterling silver with a wire overlay reminds us of a stylized longhorn. Signed on the back, LOBEL, Sterling.

Measures 1" across and 1 1/4" high including the bale. Chain measures 16" and has a spring closure that holds securely. Has some tarnish and a nick to the silver wire, (which can be buffed out if desired).

Hand wrought in thick silver & weighing 95 grams this cuff was designed by Spratling in the 1940's. The bracelet stands 1 1/2" high and will comfortably fit up to a 6 3/4" wrist. Inside diameter is 2 1/2". The back opening is 1 1/4" wide. The bracelet is in beautiful condition with a nicely aged patina. Hallmarked on the reverse. This lovely pin / brooch measures 1 1/4" x 3/4" x 3/8". The back is marked 925S, S.C.F. DENMARK (for sterling silver and Danish silversmith / designer S. Christian Fogh from Copenhagen). It is a fine pin and has some heft. It is in great condition. It is circa 1950s.

This mid-century ring is a very rare and possibly one of a kind piece from Antonio Pineda. It is absolutely stunning with a large presence, and it's collector quality. The face of the ring features nine dense green stones topped with four pearls. The face measures 1 1/16" x 7/8", and has a height of 7/16". The ring size is 7 1/4. Weight is 15.5 grams. Signed and hallmarked with the Antonio Taxco crown, 970 Hecho en Mexico, and the eagle assay 17. In excellent vintage condition.

Bold pendant earrings with a deeply oxidized design of stylized animal faces. The panels are impressed with the design, and there is a bit of wear to the oxidation, but the effect is still striking. The panels also have a graceful curve, which also enhances the design. There is no maker’s mark; one screw back shows a mark of 980 Taxco, the other, sterling/Taxco/Mexico. The entire length of the earring, including the rounded top, is a little over 2 inches. Weight: 13.5 grams

These late arts and crafts sterling silver earrings are handwrought and formed as oak leaves with a ‘berry’ at the base. They were made by Albino Manca (1896-1976), an Italian sculptor and metalsmith who lived and worked in both Italy and New York. (There is a statue by him in New York’s Battery Park). The earrings have very secure clip backs, and the mark of A. Manca Sterling is found on the back of one earring. They each measure 1 inch long by 1 inch wide. Gross weight:7.8 grams total

These great earrings are made by NAPEIR, during the 1950's-1960's. They were designed during NAPIER's sterling silver line that incorporated floral motifs and geometric shapes. They also introduced their modern design pieces with popular, mid-century Mexican and Scandinavian designs. They are clip backs and measure 7/8" x 1/4". They are marked NAPIER STERLING PAT. PEND. and PAT. NO: 154859 for 1950's. They are in excellent condition.

A vintage modernist sterling silver bracelet by Hans Hansen, Denmark, designed by Karl Gustav Hansen with heart shaped links. This bracelet is design #237 and has the larger hearts and the earlier closure. This design was often additionally hallmarked with the Georg Jensen mark.

Measures 6 3/4" long and about 7/8" at the widest. The convex hearts curve slightly so the bracelet lays nicely on the wrist.

Fabulous & fun sterling silver bracelent by MATTI J HYVARINEN for Finnish company SIROKORU. Measures 7 1/2" long x 1" wide. The blue gemstone spheres move freely inside channels, giving the piece incredible kinetic motion. Fully hallmarked, with date stamp V7 for 1974. Excellent vintage condition.

Sterling and onyx Mayan face pin by Fred Davis, Mexico, c.1947. Davis managed Sanborn's for 20 years during this period. See pg. 23 of The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Since this is a classic Fred Davis design, this is his work. It is signed "22(Sanborn's bellmark number) MEXICO STERLING" and is in excellent condition. It measures 1 9/16" wide by 1 1/8" high. A commanding oval of what could be Southwest turquoise or agate is set in a sterling bezel mount with unusual curled, petal-like protrusions at the edge. The ring is quite comfortable; a wide band keeps it from turning on the finger. The stone is polished and features extensive marbling of a reddish-brown matrix on a light blue-green ground. Circa mid-century, this Antonio Pineda cuff is a book-piece design shown in "Silver Seduction: The Art of Mexican Modernist Antonio Pineda". This brooch is gold plated in two different tones and with blue-cut stones, depicts the face of a woman. It is hallmarked sterling.

This "dainty," sterling silver bracelet has a classic mod design from The Studio era. The front is 3/8" wide then tapers down to 1/4" and then tapers back up to 3/8". A superb early vintage Mexican Silver Bracelet by the famous Matilde Poulat aka MATL. Features her signature ornate silver work and a lovely combination of Coral and Turquoise cabochon stones. Measures 7" long, 1 1/2" wide and is quite heavy at 79.5 grams. With the early hallmark "Matl, 0.925, Hecho en Mexico, D.F. MATL" which dates the bracelet to the 1934-48 time period. (Mark is a bit worn). In good condition with a secure box clasp. A fantastic bracelet by this highly sought after artist.

These stunning Antonio Pineda Amethyst Earrings have a Modernist style with a elongated tapered tube of silver with a cone shaped amethyst stone set to dangle at the bottom. They measure 3" long and together they weigh 26.6 grams. Hallmarked with the Antonio Crown on one and the eagle 17 on the other (marks are a bit faint and impossible to get a good picture). The screw backs function well and there is only light wear and tarnish, no damage noted. Chic and elegant with timeless style.

Decorated in Peruzzi’s rich iconic style, this elaborate pin features cast flowers and wirework elements applied to a scrolled frame. The back is marked for the Italian jeweler Peruzzi, Florence, and for .800 silver. The secure rollover clasp is original to the pin and in good working order. Sterling vermeil lucite jelly belly with green rhinestone "Leap Frog" is 2 5/8" long by2 1/4" wide. It is in excellent condition. It is hallmarked sterling and is circa 1940. Lucite jelly bellies were copied from figurals originally done in gold and rock crystal.

This interesting pin is constructed of four flat, interlocking rings and has a nice heft to it. The rollover clasp is original to the piece and in good working order. The back bears the maker's mark of a conjoined HT, an unidentified silversmith who also worked with Estela Popowski, as well as independently. There are four other marks on the back: an eagle 20, a Hecho en Mexico mark and two sterling marks. The pin measures 2 inches long by 1 inch wide. Gross weight: 14.9 grams
