A vintage hammered sterling silver circles necklace by the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis. This is signed with Sterling and the crossed JL of the artist.

Great hammered texture, circles are all about 7/8" in this example. Measures about 23 1/2" long. Closes with a secure hook clasp.

Fine condition, has some minor scratches and darkened patina. Nice hand wrought feel. Weighs about 31 Gr. We believe this may be the heavier example.

Beautiful vintage sterling and chrysocolla V cuff by William Spratling c. 1944-46. It measures 5 1/4" around in the inside plus a 1 3/8" opening. It is 1 1/2" wide and weighs 87 grams. There are no condition issues. The gorgeous stones are free of chips or cracks. Signed as shown. Absolutely stunning.

Gorgeous sterling silver repousse links with an openwork design come together to create a beautiful bracelet by the famous Margot de Taxco. A large bracelet it measures 7 1/2" long by 1 1/2" wide and weighs a heavy 65.7 grams. Hallmarked Margot de Taxco, Sterling Made in Mexico, 5513A and the eagle 16. Nice patina, secure box clasp and attached safety chain. A lovely Margot bracelet.

The handmade pendant is probably German, mid-20th century. It features a cross-hatched, oxidized surface set with two vividly-colored coral half-beads. The back is marked Handarbeit (German for handmade), and bears a partial mark for .835 silver. There are tiny imperfections on the oxidized surface, hardly noticeable, and a product of hand work...

I love these William Spratling all silver tulip earrings. They are 1in. x .75in. in size and they are 3/8th's thick in the centers. The depth is outstanding as well as they are the perfect companion with the tulip necklace just listed. Excellent condition and properly hallmarked as shown.

Wonderfully designed hand made necklace by MAYA, Mexico, c.1950's after a Hubert Harmon design. Maya frequently copied Harmon designs. Looks just like silver with a great patina, but probably made of silver plate because there are no Mexican silver marks. The locking mechanism is separated from the main part by black velvet ribbon. Of large scale, the largest irregular square measures 2" wide by 1 3/4" high and the necklace measures 15 1/2" around...

A modernist sterling silver heavy pendant necklace signed Gra-Wun for the Scottsdale Arizona jeweler Ray Graves. The central pendant is textured and layered for an interesting effect. The hand wrought links are concave on two sides.

Circa pre-1948, this bracelet was produced by M. Velazquez. Velazquez was known for his superb repoussé silver work, and this piece is a killer example. Spratling's Nahui Ollin cuff is often found in a large mens size but this rare one is sized for a woman, is comfortable and will not shake off in movement. It is heavy at 151 grams of high content silver. The amethyst are a gorgeous grape color with no chips or damage. The gap is .75 inches with a diameter of 2 3/8th inches. With a dramatic face front that is 2.25 in. tall the presence is outstanding . One of my favorite designs with thick hand chased details.

This ring features spore-like protrusions and was made most likely in the 1960s or 1970s. It is a very small size, a 3 ¾, and shows minimal signs of having been re-sized, including what looks like a partial mark for silver (it tests for sterling). There is also a hand-engraved maker’s mark of BARZ. The top measures about 5/8 inch wide by ¼ inch high. Weight: 6.4 grams

These, silver, earrings have a leafy, foliate design. They measure 7/8" x 5/8". They are by Danish silversmith John Lauritzen, (JOHN L), who worked during the 1950s. His pieces seem to be hard to come by. They are marked JOHN L 830S DENMARK. They are in excellent condition.

Mounted with an oval banded carnelian cabochon, the pin is marked 800 to indicate silver content. It could be European, but has Asian elements to it as well. The rollover clasp is an older style but very secure, with a sturdy pin stem. The design features applied wirework and beading, and rough, scalloped edges trimmed in twisted wire. There are two larger silver half-beads, one at each side; one exhibits a small dent, as shown in Photo 5. The pin measures 1 5/8 inches across.

Unsigned and astonishing on. Tested for sterling and then some. The S swirls are repousse and large at 1.75in. long. The total weight is 81 grams heavy. The silver feels buttery soft and it has a dark natural patina that defines how wonderful this old work of art is. All hand made and follows a Patania Sr. feel when on. Because it is unmarked I have to put into a category to list. I believe it is either Old Mexican or an old Southwestern necklace. Just fabulous, LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Circa 1940's, here is a superb pin produced by Chato Castillo. Chato Castillo apprenticed with Matilde Poulat. In the Davis/Pack book "Mexican Jewelry", it's noted that Chato's pieces are all one of a kind. He left William Spratling's Taller de Las Delicias in 1939 to help his brothers start Los Castillo. This whimsical pea pod pin is handcrafted and decorated with a curling vine, the peas made of graduated malachite beads strung on a wire. The rollover clasp is secure, and the pin is well balanced when worn. It measures 2 ½ inches long by ¾ inches wide. It is conservatively dated at 1960s, and could be older. The pin is marked sterling.
