Los Castillo is known for their superb silver repousse work and this stunning bracelet is an outstanding example of that skill. Two large vary ornate fish sitting on two blue Art Glass cabochons curve around the wrist ending with silver shells at the clasp in the back. It measures 6 1/2" long by 2" wide at the front tapering to 1" at the back and is quite heavy at 97.9 grams...

A puzzling piece - though it is signed “Birks”, the hallmark does not look like the Canadian company’s commonly encountered marks - this vintage sterling vermeil pin is a small work of art. Slender and elegant, the flower it represents consists of a textured silver stem while its leaves and bloom are made of molded jadeite glass. The glass is supple and glistens thanks to the glaze that was applied over it and the brooch has that romantic, nature-loving air of 1940s jewelry...

This modernist design by William Spratling dates to the 1950's. Weighing 90 grams the necklace is 20 inches long. The opposing "tongues" measure 2 1/2" across X 2". Screw back earrings 1 1/8" x 1". The gold wash is very light especially on the earrings. All in beautiful condition. Hallmarked on clasp and the back of one pendant. Earrings each marked with eagle 30. Circa 1930's - 1940's, here is a huge early hand-wrought Mexican modernist bracelet. Hallmarked simply "Silver Mexico", it's a book-piece design seldom seen, originally created by Frederick Davis and shown in the Morrill/Berk book "Mexican Silver". No maker's mark on this one. Four large amethyst cabochons with quartz marbling and natural inclusions sit between oval silver tubes with silver balls at each end...

This is an absolutely gorgeous necklace created by Nestor. The elaborate centerpiece measures 2 15/16" wide and features a huge lab created purple stone in a four pronged setting. Necklace measures a closed, wearable length of 17", and it lays perfectly on the neck. Signed and hallmarked "Nestor Hecho en Taxco 925 Sterling" with an eagle assay. Weight is 48.5 grams. In excellent vintage condition.

Rare and magnificent 970 silver and amethyst bracelet by Taxco master silversmith Antonio Pineda. It is comprised of concave hinged silver links with a center rounded rod of amethyst. Circa 1955-60, the bracelet measures 6 1/2" around in the inside, is 1" wide and weighs 122 grams.The slide in clasp is tight and secure as is the attached safety chain. The brooch measures 1 7/8" high and 2 1/8" at the widest. The rollover clasp holds securely. The earrings measure 7/8" high and 1" at the widest. The screw backs hold securely.

I could never exaggerate the sparkle of the two big, faceted color-change sapphires that adorn the opposing “wings” forming the face of the modernist Enrique Ledesma Mexican hinged bracelet at hand! Set here against untreated sterling (quite often, Ledesma uses niello-type oxidation to enhance the contrast between gemstone and silver) the stones pass from amethyst to a steely purple under different light conditions thus mimicking the behavior of alexandrites...

An attractive vintage sterling silver 2" brooch or pin from Mexico with a large engraved flower on a turquoise and resin ground c1960s. The engraved edge and flower are well done, and the ground has inlaid turquoise half-circles against a deep blue resin base. The repousse work is outstanding on this design 543 Los Castillo bracelet. It is 2 inches tall with a hook closure. The old linear hallmark and the design itself shows that this was the work of Margot Van Voorhies when married to Antonio Castillo. Together they formed the taller Los Castillo. The links are rounded to fit the arm perfectly and are 6.75 inches long. An outstanding bracelet to add to a collectors wardrobe. It will be noticed by all that gaze upon it.
