One of Taxco's most famous modernists Sigi Pineda was also a very prolific designer and at his best moments, truly inspired. I am used to seeing minimalist, fluid pieces by him and the brooch at hand, wrought in sterling silver and adorned with a teardrop-shaped obsidian, is the result of a good moment indeed...

This sterling silver necklace has a classic, timeless look that makes it a wardrobe staple. It is composed of alternating round beads and larger irregular-shaped ones with a pocked surface similar to a hammered look. It has an unidentified maker’s mark, but is probably American-made. The strand measures 22 1/2 inches long, end to end. Weight: 53.2 grams

This pin exhibits a sturdy, well-molded design of a pharoah's head with fine detail. It is secured by the original rollover clasp, and is marked sterling on the back. There is no maker’s mark. The pin measures 1 1/2 inches long by 1 ½ inches wide and dates 1950s-1960s. Gross weight: 20.7 grams

Long sterling necklace, c.1960's. Consisting of three vertical parts with a 24" link chain that has 3 hand made sections. Each framed section measures 2 1/4" wide by 1 1/2" high. One of the best Sigi Pineda's for a collection is this outstanding bracelet of silver brushed "pearls" and a concave black niello background that goes half the way around. Sigi's silver brushed pearl look was achieved by making a cutting of a tight spiral onto the bead balls. It is evident in the close up photography. From a look to your arm when worn it gives a satin finish effect. The quality of the thickness of the silver and bead work shows off the heft of 80 grams...

Wonderful kinetic pendant by Danish designer Hermann Siersbol, circa 1960s. The bale and the dangles are polished silver, which is contrasted by the body of the pendant, which has a hand-hammered texture. The bars dangle freely and each terminate in a silver globe. The large Pendant measures approx. 2" across by about 3.5" tall (top of bale to bottom of longest dangle). Marked on the bale "925S H.S.". Excellent vintage condition with no deep scratches, dings or dents.

Large handmade modernist sterling and rose quartz pin by Sam Kramer, the famous NYC silversmith, c.1948. As usual, one can turn the pin in several directions trying to find the "correct" position - is it a fish wriggling through the water, or a profile with a pony tail, or should we not ask these questions? Striking and unusual this vintage sterling silver and amethyst ring was designed and signed circa 1940's by Taxco, Mexico & American artist William Spratling(1900-67). Beautiful vintage sterling earrings with tear drop shaped, bezel set, deep red coral. These have clip backs and hold secure on the ears. Lovely floral design with silver drops between the stones and twisted wire around the center stone. They measure 1" by 1" and weigh 13 grams total. This lovely pin is composed of lacy, intricate sterling filigree work surrounding an oval-shaped piece of carnelian. One delicate filigree band is gilded and the other is highly oxidized for contrast. There is a gilded rollover clasp of good quality, probably added later to replace a C-clasp but contemporary to the period of 1950s-1960s. The stone shows no wear or scratching. The back exhibits the words “Italy” and “sterling.” The pin measures 1 ¾ inches long by 1 ½ inches wide.
