A beautiful antique Old Master drawing with great patina, the subject a bridge over a Venice canal, with figures and fascinating detail, unsigned, in the style of Guardi. Francesco Guardi (1712-1793) is the most famous practitioner in the style, but Giacomo (1764-1835) accounts for his share of the production of such works, the so-called "Vedute" popular with tourists of the time...

A large, impressive drawing on paper, 26" by 42" (30" by 46" in strip framing), the subject "on the range"---cowboys and their cattle on the range in a beautiful, luminous, "Marlboro Man" landscape. The artist signed at lower right and dated the piece 1979. I believe the media used are gouache, pastel, and maybe color pencil, which he was known to employ...basically, a "mixed media" drawing, and very large for a drawing...

Poignant early handmade drawing of pink and white flowers (lilies of the valley and?) painted in gouache within an oval set off by golden mat, the words "BIRTHDAY GREETINGS FROM YOUR LOVING DAUGHTER ALICE" around the central image. This one is certainly a challenge to describe----but I will give it a go. A mixed media (watercolor, gouache, pastel and gold metallic paint mix) painting, the subject a fantastic, surreal, dream-like scene including a supine male figure with ants on his chest, leopard-like creature, moth, skulls, green, opportunistic poisonous-looking tropical style snake emerging from a woman's body, and bat hanging upside down! The piece is an impressive size at 29 1/2" by 22" (34 1/2" by 27" framed)...

This is a hand painted original work, the subject a newly married couple, he in Edwardian (??) formal coat and medals and monocle, she in traditional white with a corsage. The image was either intentionally cut out by the artist and pasted onto a board which was in turn pasted onto a light green silky surface, or someone has subsequently decided on this presentation. Currently the figures therefore stand out in something of a three dimensional manner from the background...

A complex mixed media drawing, in the style of Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), featuring geometric shapes and forms, measuring 7 1/2" by 11 3/4" inside the mat opening (17" in 21" in frame). The drawing is created with graphite, watercolor, gouache and perhaps pastel crayon. The detail is tight and finished. A very decorative work with color and form, sure to be a conversation piece.

MEDIA: Inside Painting Hair Crystal Snuff Bottle SIZE: H: 3 inches, W: 1 ¾ inches ARTIST: Qiu Shi (Guanyu Art Studio) *His original name is Liu Xing-Kai. He was born in 1968 in Hebei Province. He began work under Master Wang Guan-Yu in 1987. Though young, his skills offer much promise for a brilliant future. His talents lie in reproducing Song Dynasty and other traditional landscapes and figures.

Contemporary pencil and watercolor drawing in simple metal gold framing, the subject two women apparently dancing in a late 19th century cafe, the drawing 8 1/2" by 5 1/4" inside the mat (the entire sheet significantly larger, at 11 3/4" by 8 1/4"), signed at lower right "Dan" or "Han" or similar. The scene reminds of George Grosz' 1920's drawings of Berlin cafe goers, or even Toulouse Lautrec's Parisian cafe's. The drawing is nicely crafted.

Old Japanese mechanical toy as amateur wooden handicraft from Showa period, 20th century. When wheeled back and forward tightly, head shaking and wings flapping but as barely and awkwardly and just lovely. (So, more like a decorative object than practical movable toy, please.) approx. W 27.5 x D 18 x H 19cm (10.82 x 7.08 x 7.48in)...

ANTONIO SIGNED INK SKETCH STUDY FROM A HAITIAN ARTIST MEASURING 16” x 12” HIRSH

A charcoal and color chalk drawing of a young boy, 8 1/2" by 4 1/2" inside the mat and 11 1/2" by 7 1/2" framed, apparently unsigned. The work is affixed at three edges to another sheet, I was able to peer into the back via the open side and do not see any writing or other information there. The drawing extends beyond the mat, as shown. Nicely executed work by unknown artist.

A twentieth century pastel on paper drawing of white and yellow flowers in a white vase, signed at lower right with what appears as "Raymond" or similar. The work measures 10 1/2" by 8 1/2" inside the present brown mat (16 1/2" by 12 1/2" framed). Found in Los Angeles, the work is on English paper---I suppose it could be English. The hand that created this was talented and it is a lovely little still life.

A striking watercolor and gouache painting of a black cat lounging amidst lily family garden flowers, 8 1/2" by 13 1/4" (18" by 22" as framed), signed at lower left by the noted New Mexico-associated artist AGNES GABRIELLE TAIT (1894-1981). Cats were a favorite subject of the artist, and collectors seek out those works specifically. Tait was born in New York City, and studied art there and in Europe (especially lithography)...
