Vintage watercolor painting of the famous miniature drawbridge in the far western part of the island (Somerset Parish), actually signed twice at lower right "Worcester" or (less likely) "Norcester", and dated "42". I am so far unable to connect this to a known, listed artist working in the islands. The work measures 12" by 16" as framed. Note the typical, quaint old whitewashed stone Bermuda house at left and the white roofs and shutters...

A vintage impressionist oil on board painting with modernist touches, unsigned, 20" by 16". The work is probably by a listed artist but alas there is no signature. The almost Cubistic handling of the cloth and rear drape and the foreshortened space are most interesting. The work probably dates to about the 1940's. Unframed, and with some small faults common to older paintings, including light soiling, a few minor losses, edge losses etc.

By listed Southern California artist BERTHA TOWNSEND COLER (1865-1948), a large, bulk group of unframed works that came from the liquidation of the contents of a Pacific Palisades home, the owners related to the artist. There were many, many works by the artist at the liquidation (see the framed oils elsewhere in my shop), a number of which I procured. Watercolor and pencil on paper drawing of a red roofed village church surrounded by small houses and trees, 12 1/4" by 17 7/8" (20 3/4" by 25 1/2" as framed), signed at lower right "V.J. Roux-Champion 1944). The drawing is a work of noted French artist VICTOR JOSEPH ROUX-CHAMPION (1871-1953). Condition is excellent with fresh colors and no water damage or foxing. The artist's works are offered at auction in England and the Continent.

Abraham Rosenthal (Russian/American, 1886-1963) oil on artist board painting of Rockport Harbor. Size: 16 inches x 20 inches. Abraham Rosenthal was a Russian born, American painter who lived in New York and Rockport, Massachusetts. He studied at the Art Students League, Cooper's Union, and was a student of Emile A. Gruppe. He was a member of the Rockport Art Association. Condition is excellent; offered in a gilt wood frame. Signed lower right.

William Corasick, b. 1907, studied at Temple University and at the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Philadelphia Art Alliance, and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, National Academy of Design, and the Butler Art Institute. This unique and exciting abstract is painted on paper and clear film. In very good original condition and professionally framed. Image measurements are app. 20" x 20".
