This is a masterful drawing with a definite modernist touch, by well listed artist GENE McCOMAS (1886-1982), depicting a tropical house under palms, likely in the South Seas---the artist traveled to and painted Tahiti and nearby Moorea island. The artist was San Francisco-born, and is associated with the Bay Area and the Monterey-Carmel area, but she and her husband traveled extensively and obviously produced art in these exotic locations...

The painting is something of a mystery, the mysterious hand and spectacles at lower left coming from outside the image area.
