Early 20th century Dutch harbor scene by Gerard Wiegman (1875-1964). The painting depicts a large cargo ship moored at harbor and surrounded by a variety of smaller ships, fishing boats and tugs. The sky is painted in moody shades of ochres and grays that echo the colors found in the water. This choice of coloring suggests the obvious industrial nature of this unidentified harbor. The impasto lends nice texture and depth. Signed lower right “G. Wiegman”...

The sky is painted in moody shades of grays that echo the colors of the dark smoke rising from the other large ships in the background. This choice of coloring suggests the obvious industrial nature of this unidentified harbor...
A highly decorative late 20th century painting after the Dutch 17th through 19th century classic winter landscapes, 33" by 36 1/2" as framed, signed at lower right by artist W. Reynolds. The work is clean and in very nice condition overall. There is some slight crazing at left in the sky, just enough to increase the impression of this being an old painting, and the frame has some light wear that can be touched up...
Jacob van Dieghem, Dutch, 1843-1885, Oil on Mahogany panel, "Sheep and Mallards", image size 7 1/8 x 9 1/2 inches
Lovely antique oil signed at extreme lower right corner by the Dutch master artist JAN JACOB COENRAD SPOHLER (1837-1923), the subject a classic canal in summer, the scene including windmills, boats, houses, churches (Utrecht, Leiden?) and tiny figures. The work measures 8 1/2" by 13 1/2" (10 1/2" by 15 1/2" in older 20th century frame). The work is very typical of his paintings, many of which show ice skaters in the winter. Larger works have reached $40,000 at auction in the Netherlands...

Oil on canvas painting, unframed, 15" by 23", the subject a traditional farmhouse in spring, surrounded by trees in pink and white blooms, the season's clouds billowing in the sky, and chickens pecking in the yard, apparently fed by a lone figure, at center. The painting is signed at lower left Louis Soonius. I am offering the painting on its decorative merits only as I do not believe it to be by the noted Dutch artist Louis Soonius (1883-1956)...

At first glance this appears to be a 17th century Dutch landscape oil on panel by someone like Ruisdael, Hobbema, Cuyp, Van Goyen, or other famous artists of that time and place. Closer examination reveals that this is actually a late 20th century work in that style, signed at lower right by artist J M GRISWOLD. I do not see information on the artist but he or she was clearly familiar with 17th century Dutch art. The work is on masonite and measures 11 3/4" by 16" (17 1/2" by 21 1/2" as frame...

Notice the details of the honeysuckle flower design on the armour. Please refer to the flemish painting in our listing. The honeysuckle design on the middle right side of the photo matches the same design in 17 flemish paintings.
Please notice the new photo which shows a stylistic monnogram on her collar. We believe this monnogram represents P J P. We will be doing more research on this monnogram. We are researching this exceptional 16th century portrait of Mary, Queen of Scots (1542-1567). This oil on panel measures 20" x 17". The frame label reads Mary Queen of Scots by Pieter Pourbus 1510-1584. The frame and panel appears to be original. If you need detail photos, please advise.
